I'll say it's the pick and CV to Memphis for Love and Warrick.

I think if we're talking CV and #8 then there's likely a future pick involved.

I'd guess CV+8 for #3. McHale is a sucker.

I understand that McHale is a poor GM, but i just can buy that he's drop from 3 to 8 and only ask for Villanueva in return.

Wow, this thread got pretty interesting in a hurry, didn't it?

Wich, I hope you appreciate the fact that you've become the Alan Greenspan of RealGM...we're all hanging on your every word.

I agree with DB, just CV/8 for 3 doesn't seem to make sense...Minny doesn't seem to need a soft 4 like CV, and even if they did I question the value in it. We'd also have to take back some salary.

i say no.

cv + 8 is a good deal. i'm one of those who still fears the yi potential and wouldn't risk it.

A lot of teams covet CV. He's proven he can be a consistent scorer and rebounder in this league and he's still young (and has a tiny contract). He's a valuable piece. That said, the Wolves probably would want to get out from under one of their big veteran contracts in addition. I'd give them D-Mase for Adriana Lima's lesser half - I think that's fair value.

I think Memphis or LAC will be a destination for Redd or CV

I realize most of us don't like CV because of his horrid defense but there appears to be some value for him league wide......he is a 6'10" scorer and the T-wolves really are void of much scoring, so if they can get the guy the want at #8 plus add some very good offensive potential the trade does not look nearly bad as many think..............how did I sell that???

I think you sold it great. People here are just down on CV, as they are all our guys. His value is better around the league than on this board IMO.

That said, if you read Wichmae's clue's, and figure that we aren't talking about pick #3, then the logical next pick would be Memphis. If Hammond/Skiles wanted Kevin Love, and Love is there at 5, I think CV/8 for 5/Warrick would be a good deal for both teams.

Wichmae.....am I close? Or out in left field?

I'm trying to think of other good trades that have been discussed. Something for Josh Howard perhaps? Can you tell us whether the trade will kick us into contention or is it more of a rebuilding type of move?

My money's on Portland. They want Alexander and we could use some of their youth (I'd like Outlaw especially). Plus there'll be good value still available at #13. #8 & CV for #13 & Outlaw? We take Speights at 13? I'd be cool with that.

Edit: Speights, Darrell Arthur, or Rush would be fine too. Or any of the top 10 guys if they slipped.

No way. Maybe #8 for 13 and outlaw. We'd be gettin ripped off giving them CV on top of it.

I'd wouldn't even trade CV for Outlaw straight up.

I proposed Villanueva for Lowry/Warrick several months ago. Perhaps the Grizzlies would consider Villanueva/8 for Lowry/Warrick/3. I think the Bucks are making out like bandits in this deal so maybe they throw in a future 2nd. But this trade would enable the Bucks to get Love - assuming that's who Hammond is trying to get - and pave the way for Mo to be dealt after July 1.

It is interesting to me that It seemed like most people wanted us to trade down, Wichmae comes here with info that a deal is in the works, and almost everyone assumes that we are trading up.

I am glad that he's pooh-pooing the silly CV + #8 for #3 stuff. That would never fly.

I would literally need to seek treatment for priapism should such a deal occur.

Does CV really have that much value in the league, though? Toronto was laughed at by everyone by how high they picked him. At that particular moment he didn't have much value except to the Raptors. He then went on to have a pretty good rookie year. After that it's been all down hill. An injury plagued second season followed by a horrid first half of his 3rd year and then a good offensive, but horrid defensive second half to his third year. To top it off the guy will be needing an extension soon. I just don't see that much value for him.

I would love any combination of trades that get us a top 5 pick. I'm not a fan of trading down. Teams on the brink of the playoffs or finals can trade down to get a decent rookie and a solid player. Teams that suck as much as we do (yes, I believe we are one of the 3 worst teams in the league and if you look at the future only Memphis is worse) need star players and you're best chance at getting those players is near the top of the draft.
