Don’t really understand the Kristaps love here lately. Guy is obviously talented but he can’t stay healthy or play actual impactful basketball to save his life. Maybe on a bonafide “contender” he would look a little better but the best ability is availability, and he’s very rarely available

Chucking 3s on 1 or no pass offense is Bud's eye-bleeding offense, no matter who chucks em. The most irritating part is that we don't set our best shooter (Khris) to average at least 10 3s per game.

Good....good

His using his shoulder to body into guys when he knifes into the paint makes me very very happy as it pertains to my Yung Manu comparison last year. It's fun to watch him add these things to his game in real time because there wasn't much of a break in the action during the offseason to do this stuff away from the cameras.

He was dynamite as the ball handler in pick situations last night. I really hope we hang onto him. He may very well look like a long term solution for us at the 1 next year. We need him to be assertive, and we need more consistency, obviously, but it was great finally seeing a game where we got that from him. It's the kind of confidence building, "holy ****, I can do this stuff" game we've been waiting for.

100% agree with you. Being more of a PG might have unlocked him. After watching his highlights from that game again, I really hope Donte is given more chances to handle the ball like a PG even when Jrue comes back. Like you said, his ball handling and decision making in the pick and roll was awesome to watch.

No mention of Diakite in Givony's "What we learned in the G League bubble: The NBA's next call-ups, and potential flameouts" article.

Isn't this because Diakite is already under contract?

Guys I'm making a prediction. Bucks won't trade anyone and then they'll sign a free agent with the vet minimum. That guy will probably be Ersan Ilyasova . Sorry but many of the trades in here are too good to be true or very stupid .

I guess if that excludes him from "call-ups". I thought that might include guys who are down in the G League and haven't really played at all in the NBA. I mean, in the article Givony talks about quite a few guys who are under contract with teams (Jalen Smith, Ty Jerome, Poku, Tyrell Terry), but I guess he lists those guys in the potential flameouts section.

Nah, they've held on to DJW this long to be able to pull off a decent sized trade, but if that didn't happened, he'll be dumped for a vet in a smaller deal.

No news on Jrue is not necessarily a bad sign per se, but it's definitely not a good sign either. I had hopes that a 4-year extension would be treated almost as a formality once he became eligible.

Today's the second day he's eligable. Maybe we're penny pinching but I very much doubt he hits the market.

I doubt the Bucks are penny-pinching, but I'm worried about him possibly wanting to play somewhere else or even just holding out to pressure them to give him a 5-year Bird Rights max deal in the summer. I'm not sure he can sign a 5-year extension now.

In my mind, I think it should be a foregone conclusion that the Bucks offer as much as any other team can pay him (but no more) and he accepts. Not a lot to think about in my opinion now that Giannis has extended. If there is something else for either party to think about, that concerns me a lot - unless they have a legit chance of getting him for less than the max of course, which I seriously doubt.

I'm pretty sure Giannis/Bucks delayed to announce their max extension with a plan to hurt their rivals and keep their picks valuable. I mean Miami/Toronto were forced to keep their 2021 max spot hoping for Giannis and ended up losing Crowder/Ibaka and other possible FA signings for nothing. Pelicans from their side could have chosen some other package for Holiday if Giannis had already committed to a new deal at the time.

Somehow I'm expecting the same to happen with Holiday. If there is a deal for a max 4y/134.9mil, it would be smart to make it known after the deadline. We don't have much draft capital to pull another trade. Whatever few picks/swaps we have available won't look any better if Jrue signs today. Just have him on board and sign that extension a month later. This is a plan for next month.

1. Call Houston and offer them the opportunity to cash in our 2022 FRP a year earlier.
2. See what you can buy with 2023 FRP in March 25 deadline.
3. Avoid the tax to free real future money.
4. Sign Jrue in March 26 with that 4y/134.9mil extension. No need for more drama.
5. Keep a spot open for some buyout vet in April.

So you want to let him get to free agency, and risk losing him for nothing?

Was not a fan of that trade, but at this point we're all in. He's still a borderline all-star player. We just have to pay up.

Bucks can't be stupid enough to give up everything they did for Holiday without some kind of idea of if they could resign him. Then again, word out of BOS is that one of the reasons they didn't up their offer for him was due to no assurance that he'd resign. So who knows.

The fascination in Porzingis or Oladipo comes with the buy low status they currently have. You love it if one of these guys come to Milwaukee without touching our Jrue/Donte/Midds/Giannis core taking into account the limited assets we have left.
