Is there a reason this can't/didn't have a thread? Or at least update the title? I feel like condensing all smaller news, trade ideas, rumors or whatever into one thread is fine. But signing a player kinda seems thread-worthy? I didn't know this happened until I *gasp* saw on ESPN.

Anyways, Teague on the Bucks has been destiny for about a decade. This is a similar feeling to when we got Brook. And, it's better than Austin Rivers.

I was hoping they'd sign Teague over DJ during the offseason, so ultimately think we netted out with a better player at a cheaper price. Reliable ball handler and decision maker who should get/make open shots. Plus, Bud knows how to get the most out of him.

I'm not expecting him to get a ton of postseason minutes, but a good guy to have around during the regular season.

Why is everyone assuming that the Bucks are still not going to sign Rivers?

I hope they sign Rivers too. That way they can go from two guys who have no business playing in the playoffs, Forbes and Merrill, to two guys who have no business playing in the playoffs for a team that is going to win at least 2 playoff games. See the difference?

I kid, I kid. Pleasantly surprised that he was available and chose the Bucks. And I mean, how hard can it be to be better than Bledsoe was against Toronto and Miami? Do we not have a title if we have this version of Teague - not even the 2019 version, but this version - against the Raptors?? (Not even a Bledsoe hater, just stating facts.)
Wut we've got here is... faaailure... to communakate.

He is a depth pickup more than halfway through the season. He knows the system and has been shooting well this year. He is also getting paid peanuts and cost nothing to acquire. Why bitch?

I'm just happy to have a warm body who can actually competently play PG, even if it's just in small doses.

Okay, I'm good with this. Now kick the tires on Dedmon to complete the reunion phase.

Assuming Rivers signs tomorrow when he clears waivers, what roster do you prefer?

Bledsoe - Hill - (2)Mason
Matthews - DDV - Pat - (2)Reynolds
Middleton - Korver - Brown - Thanasis
Giannis - Williams - Ersan - DJW
Lopez - Lopez

or

Holiday - Teague - Merrill
DDV - Rivers - Forbes - (2)Toupane
Middleton - Pat - Thanasis - Nwora
Giannis - Tucker - Kurucs
Lopez - Portis - (2)Diakite

I think one of the mods has a grudge from 2013.

Still think Teague sucks now but happy to be proven wrong if he has a resurgence here. He was definitely better in Boston than he was in Minnesota last year, so maybe another upgrade in situation makes him even better.

Yup, I'm happy and relieved to add Teague. Honestly, I think the Rivers talk was a smokescreen.

Ryan Saunders was an awful coach who made a lot of players look bad.

Won't hurt to get some scouting tips in case we face Boston in the playoffs.

There's really nothing about his play this season that says he's an "easy upgrade" over DJA at this point. Most of the impact metrics paint them with pretty similar outcomes. The biggest thing here is that we got "A" ball handler, not one that's better or worse imo. Obviously you hop the familiarity he has with Bud helps the situation.

Even if you throw familiarity aside, Jeff’s a bit bigger, a big longer, a bit stronger. He’s been shooting well. He doesn’t pound the ball the way DJA did for us. Obviously it remains to be seen, but I’m pretty optimistic.

Well, if Teague isn't going to get his own thread, then I didn't want one for myself, anyway.

Teague > DJA
Kurucs > DJW
PJ Tucker > Craig
