Bucks fans have thought more about Giannis playing in Chicago than Giannis himself has.

This is immensely stupid to be agonizing over, but also wholly unsurprising. Of course the media is going to run with it - because no one out there wants him in Milwaukee, and they all want to grasp onto anything to put him in a top market. And of course Milwaukee fans are going to worry - because the media makes us, and also because so much of the fanbase is still mentally scarred from three decades of sports fandom abuse (for lack of better term).

Wish Giannis wouldn't supply the ammunition, but it is but it is.

I've been steeling myself on Giannis leaving since July 21, 2021. He extended his deal before he delivered the Bucks a ring and a banner. His legacy here is secure. I hope he's Duncan but I won't be shocked if he looks to move on in a couple years. Hope the Bucks work on building a roster that makes the decision tough.

Giannis should have said maybe hell freezes over and the Bucks don’t want me anymore and I have to move to Chicago. Who knows?

Maybe one day I too will play for the Bulls. Unlikely given my age, height and athletic ability, but we never know what the future will bring.

Giannis is always honest. He has said things like this his entire career. If he ever leaves I won't hate him, he doesn't owe me anything.

But his statement is true. Most people between the ages of 25 and 45 grew up wondering what it would be like to wear the same jersey as the best player ever and win a title in Chicago. There is no way he didn't consider it as a child, however if we continue to keep a competitive team around him then I don't think Giannis goes anywhere.

Chicago sucks and the Bulls are a trash heap of an organization, unless you're from there and or seriously stan MJ I don't see much appeal. I worry more about the Knicks poaching Giannis than Chicago. If Giannis said something about LA maybe I'd take notice but its just him being polite to some Chicago homer.

Wow.

Listen to what Giannis says.

Not one positive thing about the current Bulls team. Not one positive thing about any current Bulls player, coach or executive. Not one positive thing about the city.

He did not say he could see himself playing there.

He refused to answer the question about himself playing in Chicago, and instead talked about how "anyone" would want to play for a franchise that accomplished so much decades ago.

His answer was equivalent to your response when asked "Honey, does this dress make me look fat?". Answering that question is not the time to be flippant, inconsiderate or honest. Just squash the question with compliments and move on.

One cannot simply say Chicago sucks and Bulls are a trash organization then be concerned about the damn Knicks lmao

You're absolutely not watching the same player if you dont think Giannis relies tremendously on his athleticism. Players over 30, do lose their athleticism. It's natural. His Body type also doesnt have the best track record for longevity either post 30.

If he is making noise about playing elsewhere come 30 years old, the Bucks would be committing franchise malpractice not trading him for a huge haul.

I think he's already showing a steady addition of old man game with his mid range, hook shots and post ups.

Right, the long list of players with his body type. They're just walking around all over the place.

David Robinson - Age 35 season 14.4 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.5 blocks per game and 12.1 win shares (age 36 was his last major stats season)
Kevin Garnett - Age 35 season 15.8 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.9 Assists, 1.0 blocks per game and 6.9 win share (age 36 was his last major stats season)
Hakeem Olajuwon - Age 36 season 18.9 points, 9.6 rebounds, 2.5 blocks per game and 6.5 win shares (Put up 12 and 7 at age 38)

Robinson has always been the most similar physical profile I could think of.

Is Giannis okay? Facebook said something Giannis hurt his back playing for Greece? I didn't hear the details. I had to go to work. Bogus or nothing? Soreness? Don't need him missing a ton of games early on. Even though maybe keep him fresh for playoffs.

Tight back in warmups so they pulled him from the game. No biggie
