Boston needs to absolutely obliterate Chicago to have a chance of staying in the tourney. If i'm Chicago, i'm taking the pace WAY down so that any margin of victory is as small as possible. Because **** boston

Part of the Buck's problem vs the Celtics is the Bucks play like they are terrified of them.

The Celtics in turn feed off of our fear and gain a ton of confidence from it.

I've been saying this the past 2 seasons and it was painfully obvious in the first 5 minutes last Wednesday.

The Celtics are good, but they're not as good as the Bucks always make them look. The day the Bucks stop playing terrified vs Boston is the day the Bucks will begin to own the match up.

My wish is that Orlando can somehow get Boston in the playoffs. Boston forgets how to play basketball when they play Orlando. Credit to Orlando of course. I watched all of their games last year and it's wild to see how out of sorts Boston gets. Yet they play us and they turn into the 95 Bulls.

Here's where the in-season tournament stands with 14/30 of the league having already completed it:

In the East, Indiana has advanced out of Group A and will be the 1 or 2 seed in the knockout stage. The Bucks will be the 1 seed if they beat Miami and are well positioned to win the group even with a loss (a 3-way tie between the Knicks, Heat and Bucks would come down to whether the Knicks make up a 21 point difference gap) and even if the Knicks make that up, they're well positioned to finish ahead of the others for the wildcard spot. The C group, is pretty interesting with Orlando ahead and having completed group play with the Boston win yesterday. Boston needs to win by 22 or more against Chicago, score 121 or more and hope Brooklyn beats Toronto. And with the wildcard, the Knicks are definitely the 1-loss team best positioned to get it as they're +18 in point difference with a game against Charlotte forthcoming.

In the West, the Lakers have advanced out of their group and will almost certainly be the 1 seed in the knockout stage. The Suns will probably get the wildcard. In group B, just as everyone guessed Houston controls their own destiny as they're in with a win over Dallas. If they lose NOP will win the group and the Pels will miss the wildcard because they have a +33 point difference and Phoenix is +34. The Kings will probably win group C. They win it outright with a win over Golden State, they would almost certainly win a 3-way with the T-Wolves and Warriors on point differential. But if the Warriors beat the Kings and the Thunder beat the Wolves, the Warriors would win the group.

My guess is the teams to advance and their seed will be, in the East, Milwaukee (no. 1), Indiana (no. 2), Orlando (no. 3) and New York (no. 4). In the West it'll be Lakers (no. 1), Sacramento (no. 2), Houston (no. 3) and Phoenix (no. 4)

There’s a story floating around that Eddie House on the Celtic pregame last year called the Magic a garbage team. Paolo heard it and took it to the team in the locker room and the Magic have beaten them every game since.

Also apparently House keeps doubling down on his comments rather than giving the Magic any credit saying stuff like “this was their Super Bowl”.

https://www.si.com/nba/raptors/news/chicago-bulls-demar-derozan-frustrated-with-toronto-raptors-late-shot-attempt

“I don’t care about no In-Season Tournament points, none of that. Just the respect for the game,” DeRozan said post-game. “Everybody was yelling at him, ‘score, score, score.’ Take the win. Get out of here,” DeRozan said. “If roles were reversed, needing In-Season Tournament points or not, just for the respect I have for my opponents, I hold the ball.”

The Raptors acknowledged earlier in the tournament that they would be paying attention to point differential in tournament play. It’s why they weren’t upset when the Orlando Magic did the same thing in Toronto’s last game tournament, taking a last-second three-pointer to run up the score and add to their point differential.

Philly/OKC game today is interesting.

Also interesting that it appears as if Boston/Philly/Denver get bounced out of the first round of the IST
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I'm expecting Silver to make an emergency announcement of a rule change to the tournament now that Boston and Philly are on the outside looking in.

Every time we have played Boston over the past few seasons, I go to their board right before the game to read the pre-game comments and almost every time when I go there they all want to fire their coach and trade half their players.

Then I go to their board immediately after the game after they play us to read the post-game comments and they are planning championship parades and wanting to give all their players contract extensions.

Then 2-3 days later after they beat us, Boston gets clobbered by a team like Orlando and their board goes back to wanting the coach fired and half the team traded again.

Feels like this is about the 17th time this has happened over the past several seasons....lol.

I swear, Boston could be in the midst of a 12 game losing streak and they will immediately look like the best team in the league when they play us. Every time.

Or Horford will look completely washed, them immediately look like the 2010 version of himself when he plays the Bucks.

It's 110% because the Bucks are terrified (mentally) of the Celtics and the Celtic's feed off of the Buck's fear.

Unfortunate for sure. But aren't there a number of courts with that "feature"? At least in college I believe so.
