But if Giannis requests a trade, I’d imagine one of the only franchises he wouldn’t want to go to would be the one that just traded their superstar without his consent.

Luka was completely blindsided and gutted over that deal.

Why would Giannis want to go to that org?

You don't want Lively? That's a very attractive package - Flagg & Lively. Then fold in NO to get our own picks back, while we take on Murray's bad contract. That's pretty much a dream deal.

Flagg and Lively and cancel the 2 pick swaps that would never happen anyway? Pass.

They're not both pick swaps. Only 1 is. And good chance we're a bottom 10 team, below New Orleans who were just heavily injured this yr.

That deal would start the Bucks back toward contention immediately, while avoiding the downside of having 5 drafts w/out our own picks and Giannis gone. It'd be pig-headed to turn that down.

One of them isn't a swap FWIW; our pick either goes to NO or ATL. Which adds complexity to resolving that pick in any deals I imagine.

But agree with you. Lively is not exciting to me. The lottery tonight made any packages much more difficult for me to get excited about. Definitely need some multi-team shenanigans.

Flagg and Lively is a great start and add in something like Christie for Pat sweetens the deal. Mavs toss in their 2031 unprotected and you’ll get an additional haul for AD.

KPJ, Rollins, AJG, Flagg, Lively, Christie, Sims, and whatever you get for AD is a really nice start in a rebuild.

Giannis has probably known Nico Harrison for years now (Nike) and obviously knows Kidd.

Because we convince him the best way to contention is this deal then he opts out and the Bucks sign him after 2027 with their trade exception cap space from Dame and Kuz expiring?

Comes back to having Flagg and Lively and more.

In Nico, all things are possible, so jot that down.

this is actually great. Giannis is such an honest guy but Dallas is the one organization he may feel totally cool with being traded to and then leaving in free agency after they give up everything they have.

Giannis can come back before Flagg's rookie deal ends.

I mean like what are we talking. Like a Kawhi force out or Giannis just being like, I don't see it, do what you gotta but trade me.

For the record, I don't think he does either.

I think he wants a reason to stay that isn't absolutely not wanting to leave. Just share the vision and he'll be on board as long as it's not loser ****.

Here's the vision:

Giannis, we have Horst here. He's the guy that sent your buddy Khris, along with a first round draft choice, for Kyle. There's not too many GMs that can be taken to the cleaners by the Wizards. Feeling better about the situation?

If not, how about this? We have Doc in the fold for several more years. Him and Ham will lead us to the promised land, as long as we continue to start Taurean and Kyle. How's that?

Wouldn't the goal be to have Giannis, AD, and Kyrie together?

It would have to be the Kyrie expiring not AD.

Kyrie (expiring)
Christie
Lively
Flagg
Lakers 1st
Swaps

Giannis
Pat

Lively has missed a bunch of games both years. Pass.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

yeah the more i look at this, the trade would have to be Flagg, Lakers 29 1st, a Dallas swap, and a bunch of role players.

idk about that. apart from the value of it, what are we even going to do with Flagg with nothing around him and no lottery pick until 2031?

Cooper Flagg isn’t basketball Jesus. Why you guys are even entertaining Mavs trades is beyond me. A freshly injured Derek Lively and a few crappy firsts? They have nothing else.

Why would Dallas do that? It really only makes sense if Kyrie stays

How do they get to near enough salary to trade for Giannis AND keep Kyrie and AD?

I mean, I’d probably do any trade that gets Flagg plus other assets but the Mavs only actual assets besides AD are Lively, Christie, and their 2031 pick.
