that wasnt my point....tongue in cheek talk....i think signing the antetekoumbros is a no brainer....my point was more to Blazza who goes ballistic everytime we make a contract with his siblings. to me its legal salary cap circumvention. like in a good way. im surprised other teams dont use it like we do.

unrelated but if my brother was giannis id be like big bro....see if horst needs a 53 year old dead eye shooter on the herd.....tell him i dont move all that well but i can still shoot if i get serious about it and tell him the intangibles id bring theyd never regret it...id tell him to just float the idea right?

if horst agreed id save the golden pen and tell the big bro.....can we do this next year too?

It makes me mad and I'm genuinely embarrassed by how everyone treats and reacts to Thanasis but I've mostly ignored everything about it since we decided to bring him back this time round. My preference would be to never see him on the team but I simply don't care about him anymore.

On today's announcement specifically it doesn't really have anything to do with his brothers and more to do with wanting the Bucks to stop doing stuff in fear of Giannis leaving. It's been 13 years we shouldn't have to worry about that stuff anymore.

Alex on the other hand...

Everybody loves Thanasis, he is athletically suited to compete in the league, he's very competitive, his effort is never in question, and nobody in the world communicates more effectively with Giannis. He has substantial value outside of his value on the court, which is effectively zero, even accepting that he's a viable end-of-bench player on the merits of his play, which I won't.

But he's a hell of a lot closer to being worthy of the 15th spot than Alex is worthy of a 2 way. That's 100% about keeping his family close.

I've never given as big of a disgusted, disappointed look to my kids than bud did numerous times with Thanasty. Seemed like he was constantly screwing up plays in garbage time when Bud was still taking the game seriously and trying to get younger guys reps. I could see him being a nuisance to the coaching staff of the 15th man is constantly goofing off

i agree. but then again im probably the guy on the board that would be least devastated by a nice reasonable return of a more traditional modern star caliber guy.......the end of one era and a kick star into the next by a smart trade. but if youre still all in on the era thinking its the only way forward and at WHATVER COST then obviously having the bros around is of very little consequence. i think thats where i disagree. youre smart. i think your take on this trys to split the fence accurately...but to our own detriment

hes the scrub guy on the team who also knows hes untouchable. i think its a normal expectation the way hes been.

but also beyond ridiculous giannis goes on and on about how important winning is to him with his brothers on the roster. there is that too but its part of the whole equation

Coffey shouldn't get cut. Smith and Liv aren't catching on at all.

The end of bench guys have no bearing on the success of the team. We won a championship with Toupane, Wilson and Kurucs.

It's not about him leaving, it's about making his time here better. In hindsight, if there was a player we could have signed that would have un-moped Dame, wouldn't that have been a totally reasonable way to spend a roster spot? If you're trying to win right now, keeping your best players happy is not primarily about getting them to sign the next contract.

I just cannot bring myself to give a **** about Thanasis taking one roster spot and Alex taking one two-way spot when literally all it does is make Giannis happier.

We had to trade Wilson and Toupane was a 2 way. But we did have Nwora and Elijah Bryant. And of course Thanasis himself.

Right. My point was they were all end of bench guys at one point on the championship team. Toupane played 8 games. The crying from some about the current end of bench guys is crazy.

Main idea here is that the way rosters are so top heavy, there will be guys available better than our 5 end of bench dudes every year. New guys get drafted and signed every year that already can shoot/defend so the "project" guys eventually will get pushed out anyways.

Who do you want back? Nwora? Marjon? They are probably still available

If the league didn't come after the Knicks and Rick Brunson for tampering, I can't imagine we have anything to worry about.

But seriously, I think we're ok here.
