Got around to digging into it today.

It's real good.

Been critics grumbling about him playing dress-up with rock music, but I think that's off-base. Doesn't feel awkward.

I am excite about maybe an m83 return. I was one of the cool kids that got into him (later a group) in like 2003, the run of albums culminating with Hurry Up We're Dreaming like 12 years ago.

I just realized Junk (meh) was the only actual album since then along with some soundtrack work + a very lowkey ambient album. They also haven't toured since 2016.

I'd give this song a 6.5/10, but the vibe is telling me that they're actually going to make a really cool full album again and maybe tour.

First half of the album was released today.

I don't really care if this is basically an ode to the 2 or 3 different styles/albums and repackaged into a new song. It's been a decade since he's done **** like this. Great headphone music.

the men are a fantastic band. if the guy didnt sound like a cat in a burlap sack, theyd really have something. this song oozes sex next to a dumpster.

May be the first year I truly miss Rock USA in Oshkosh. Pantera is gonna be epic even if only 2 of the original. Wylde and Benante are great picks for the legacy tour or whatever you want to call it. Would assume they would’ve hit up Oshkosh if it was still going. Slipknot will be solid too, saw them about 5 years ago. Godsmack played alot of their newer stuff when I saw them in like 2018, but always a good live act. I just prefer the stuff from their first 4-5 albums vs last couple.

I went to Oz Fest a couple times back in the day (like more than 20 years ago). The Pantera crowd was terrifying at the time. Essentially made the day no fun. So many split scalps and broken bones. Of course, those dudes are now 20 years older as well so it'll probably be different, but damn.

I was more a jam band kind of guy but had some friends who wanted see Pantera so saw them in Milwaukee winter 98. We pregamed in my dorm in Whitewater. One of my buddies got so wasted he threw up all over himself in line going in, still went in and then periodically was throwing up in the mosh pit. You're right scary dudes going crazy in there but apparently a man incoherent and covered in vomit is where they draw the line because they were running from him. Funniest ****, me and my buddies still get a laugh out of that story when I'm back home.

Walk was super cool live.

Toddled along with the kiddo to catch Bon Iver last night here in Sydney. Absolutely amazing, one of the best shows I've been to in a while- I can't imagine the amount of rehearsing that has to go into reproducing some of that music live. The set list for the show is below, that run going into the initial end of the show with Wolves was overwhelming and your boy got a rapturous standing ovation from the room.

Check out boygenius. Supergroup she’s in with Julien Baker and Phoebe Bridgers. Two really phenomenal EP’s IMHO.

I'm really kicking myself for watching a horrible Badgers football game and getting to the the Epic late and only catching the last song of Sleep Token opening for Nothing More. Had no idea Sleep Token would blow up like this.

Any Aussies (or others) discovered The Paper Kites (they are from Australia)? I found them under Covid and have been pretty much hooked since. Saw them in St. Paul at The Turf Club and was one of the best concerts I've ever seen. Their early stuff is more folky/indie which I'm not into but their more recent albums are just great.

Also been really into Andrew Belle:

If the Classic Albums Live tour comes to your area check them out.

Saw Pink Floyd’s “Dark Side of the Moon” show and they were awesome. Did DSOTM in its entirety, note for note then did a greatest hits set afterward. The guitarist nailed the Comfortably Numb solo, I mean he nailed it.

Good stuff.

Death Cabs newest “Asphalt Meadows” may be their best. I saw them at Sylvee a few months back and they put on a damn show.

Saw Greensky Bluegrass at the Riverside the other night. Great show.

Also saw Mt. Joy recently, and I think they’re coming into their own. I could see them reinventing into the next cult jam band. They put on a great live set.
