Re: Giannis Thread - 2 Time MVP - The Contract discussions
I agree with Jay and I agree with his opponents. There's no black or white.
I'm 100% sure both Horst and Giannis know if he signs the SuperMax or not. Either way I'm fine with it.
If Giannis is honest about his motivation to bring a title to Milwakee and have a Dirk like career, then we don't have a problem. We needed to improve and we did. Bled had to go, Jrue should make the team better, certainly in the post season.
And Giannis must be better as well. And he knows it.
If Giannis leaves, either he's dishonest or Horst makes huge mistakes and there's no chance for Bucks succes in the near future.
I can see a scenario where Giannis waits for Jrue to sign an extension with the Bucks before he signs his new contract.
I think Giannis is very motivated to beat this Lakers team with this team. If he wants greatness, he needs to stay. KD lost his chance for greatness because of his move to GSW.

I hope Giannis signs and I am pretty sure he will. But if I was him I wouldn't sign now but wait for next summer, see how the team does and check other situations. Even if he gets seriously injured he will get a big contract as Durant did.

no. giannis or what he wouId brong back is the key to the castIe and that is a decade of being abIe to win a pIayoff series. this championship or bust mentaIity is absurd. giannis himseIf needs to wake the **** up and Iook at the mirro and ask himseIf if he cant shoot himseIf out of a bucket it needs to start with him. and maybe Iike i said the answer isnt 50 miIIon on a singIe guy that isnt even capabIe of winning it aII as the #1. that is a distinct possibiIity you know. that were basicaIIy trying to win with prime dwight howard or shaq in a Ieague that you cant win with a guy Iike that anymore. im not even reaIIy sure if we arent in the same damn boiat as phiIIy with simmons. great taIent but fataI fIaw?

About your last sentence i laugh and sorry for that, Simmons? Really? WTF man? You lost your mind?
Also in your posts here i see that you always move the goalposts ...
You was a big fan of Bledsoe, a player who cant shoot at all to save his life and in a position that shooting is much more important than the PF.,,
..about Bogdan and DDV look the team and advanced stats but when they speak how bad is Forbes advanced stats you tell you dont care and you like him...lol man, i told you before i like you.
How can you bee a big DDV fan when he is a guard who cant shoot?
You also said in your post above me that you dont need to win a championsip, you want to be a winning team and i respect that but then again your team is giving so much of bucks future for a player like Holiday, if is not willing to go all in why are they doing it ? I really cant get that...

Easy solution. You surround Giannis with shooters and I mean elite shooters like the ones in legit contender teams in the west and the ones in the east that keep beating us when it matters. The bucks are simply INCAPABLE of doing that after 8 seasons(3 competing). There is always a Bledsoe or a Pat C or a DDV or a Sterling Brown in all our lineups and everysingle elite coach will take advantage of that to form a wall in front of Giannis. Because stopping him even with their entire defense is all that matters in the end. No bledsoe or DDV or Pat C will ever shoot you to death so there is no point of defending them.
The other teams are salivating about Giannis because they know they can provide that for him. They are doing it for years without having him. A pool of elite shooters is a must these days if you want a ring. After 2 failed attempts we probably realised that but still we could do nothing about it for various known reasons. Losing 3 of our 4 elite shooters(Wes,Korver,Hill), giving up all our assets for two seasons of Jrue, botching the Bogdan trade and filling our squad with even more questionable shooters or ones that are incapable of doing anything on the court else won't do it.

Says we failed to surround Giannis with elite shooters but then we lost 3 of 4 elite shooters we had. Weird.

Provided Holiday extends we most likely get 2 seasons. Giannis could pull an OKC Paul George move that summer in theory but idk if I see it.
After that though all bets are off.
As a condition I wish Giannis would insist on bringing in a serious executive who won’t screw up deals like Bogdan (i.e. salary cap goofs alongside reckless PR plays). That seems unlikely this late in the offseason but who knows.
If he would stop being a little cryptic with his responses like I’ll stay.....as long as they make the right moves. What’s the right moves? I’ll stay as long as we keep winning.....is that winning like you have or more.
Even on his MVP Award he said that he wants the BIG Trophy . He has been clear for a long time. He even recruited Bogdan and this incompetent Org managed to **** it up too.

We had Khris, Wes and 34y G.Hill and 39y Korver coming from the bench. Everybody else couldn't shoot or were simply unplayable. That's it.
If you think this is "surrounding Giannis with elite shooters" and we are somehow a lot better this season shooting wise to avoid the wall or taking advantage of the wide open shots its giving us then there is no point of discussing it farther.

Re: Giannis Thread - 2 Time MVP - The Contract discussions
The wonderful girl who is way out of your league and actually saved you from a very dark time period in your life is coming to a special dinner you've planned in which both sets of parents are invited. She knows you're going to pop the question. You've talked about it on many occasions throughout the years. Although you have expressed your love for her, your deep seated hatred for yourself, your inferiority complex and your embarrassment about being born on the wrong side of the tracks prevents you from providing for her the way other men could.
It's a good thing for you this perfect woman loves a fixer-upper, and improbably she is always speaking of how special you are, how you are her first and only. You even let her worthless brother live below you rent-free when you really needed to fill that space with a tenant who could contribute something. Actually, you treat her entire family like your own. In your private moments you sometimes have a bit of remorse about your calculation in regards to her brothers and other concessions you've made over the years, but YOUR LOVE IS TRUE. You can't imagine living without her.
So you pop the question in front of everyone, but with tears in her eyes she says she needs more time. She kisses you tenderly and tells you not to worry, but she just needs to be sure you can provide the type of life she deserves. She finally came to the realization I'm just no good for her, you think. Guys like me just don't get girls like that.
Her father ushers her away and offers you $50,000 and his old F-150 to never see his daughter again.
What do you do?
