Giannis dragged a team with bad shooting to 1st 2 years straight, now we get shooters and we're going to be 4th? Lmao.
still learning the game

Torrey Craig seems best suited at SF from what I've seen and I see he is 6'6 or 6'7. Am I off? I see a lot of posters listing him at PF.

So this is it:

PG:
Jrue Holiday
D.J. Augustin
Jaylen Adams

SG:
Donte DiVincenzo
Pat Connaughton
Bryn Forbes
Sam Merrill

SF:
Khris Middleton
Torrey Craig
Jordan Nwora

PF:
Giannis Antetokounmpo
Bobby Portis
D.J. Wilson

C:
Brook Lopez

It is what it is, I guess. I don't think the team got significantly better or worse. Just different. The team does seem to be younger and more athletic.

It feels disappointing because Horst primed us to expect some big news. Then the Bogdanovic high and the emotional crash that followed. If Giannis signs the extension, it will once again be an exciting offseason. If not... Yikes.

After Day 3 in free agency Jrue is still the best player moved this offseason. That's a good sell to Giannis, Horst did everything he could to help him on that front. I do believe that Jrue/Midds/Giannis/Brook core fits together and that they can bring a chip to Milwaukee in the next three years. I just hope that Jrue and Giannis will see this as a 3 year window instead of 1. That's too much pressure.

The follow up moves didn't help either, but nothing is broken. We would be thrilled with Donte having the chance to start and elevate his game, if we never heard about Bogdan. I still love our starting 5. The bench is an issue, but it can be fixed. There's still time for some moves and there's always the deadline. Pat, Wilson + 2nds can bring another good player. Remember the Mirotic trade. It didn't pan out, but all it cost was some 2nds.

We are good to go. Giannis and Jrue need to extend. Let's focus on that.

It could be, the problem is we can't play DJ Aug with Forbes due to weak D.

With several weak links in the D, I'm really not feeling confident as #1 D in the league.

As someone else mentioned we seem to have over corrected. We have more shooting with less 2-way dominance.

Disagree. We got Portis to play backup center and he can switch better on defense than Brook in certain matchups, that helps us a lot. Craig is good at defending wings, Jrue is an even better defender than Bledsoe was, and DDV getting more minutes should help to guard players in the 6'2-6'7 range.
You should probably go watch some film of Portis' D, he is known to be a terrible defender. I'm hoping Bud can improve his D and poor shot selection, he has quite a steep learning curve in a very short off season. Time will tell.

Even before the bubble (right before) they were playing like a 4th/5th seed. This team on paper is as good or better.

I was kinda excited with the roster by the addition of Jrue. But looking at this, it looks bad to me.

No way is Forbes our starting SG. We really only have 8 really good to solid players.

G - Jrue/DDV/DJ
F - KMidd/Giannis/Portis/Pat
C - Brook

My thinking is Forbes as the de-facto starter hides his D and provides the gravity that Giannis needs. He plays a similar role to Korver that his time in the court should only come when Giannis is in the floor.

The off season is still not over but the Celtics and Raptors changed/lost a lot of players and they will have to adjust.
The Sixers are unable to sustain good performance for the entirety of a season based on Embiids and Simmon's personality despite being far stronger this season.
Miami doesn't care that much other than the home court advantage.
The Nets will protect KD and Kyrie 100% with load managing.

Giannis can make a 4th/5th seed roster look like a historic one so at the worst we will end up 2nd if we remain rather healthy.

That doesn't say anything at all because the 2nd round in the playoff will be a war again no matter what.

If I were Giannis I wouldn’t sign anything until after the end of the season. No need to.

Honestly I'm not a big fan of their moves. Schroder is not better than playoff Rondo, Matthews is not better even from playoff Green, Harrell is a liability in the playoffs and Marc is already done. Lebron a year older, AD less hungry now. I don't see them coming from the West.

I think the Clips will figure it out. They did upgrade replacing Shamet/Harrell with Kennard/Ibaka and George can only be better too. I think they will match up again with Denver in the WCF. Nuggets will spend the RS developing MPJ, they will have Murray/Jokic combo even more confident and Harris/Barton will be at least healthier. They lost Grant but still a lot of depth in that team.

He’d be stupid if he signed it now. But the good thing for us other bucks fans is that he isn’t. His own words he stated that if the bucks continue to put the pieces around him that he’d stay long term. If the pieces we have put us in that position, then it’s up to him to own up to his word.

I think bucks got some nice little bench pieces in the end. If we didn’t know about the Bogdan trade I would’ve said it was a good off season lol.

Jrue is one of the most underrated players in the league and he is a big time solid player on both ends and we’re paring him with Giannis and Khris.

I’m a DDV fan, I would’ve loved him to of been our sixth man but he has to start and I have a good feeling about him. I like his chemistry with Giannis to.

Still want to sign a big and trade Wilson.

Portis, Craig, DJ, Forbes. Intriguing new bench

Thanks, didn't really know much about him other than he's a youngish big that can stretch the floor.

Agree with everything you said other than the part about Jrue. I think he is a decent upgrade on Bled, but I don't think he's underrated at all, based on what we gave up for him.

Pretty much all this! It’s weird how we only have 1 center on the roster, but yet again this is the new position less idea. Lopez is sort of the misfit on this roster.

He’s probably the most underrated player in the NBA. IMO

The thing is, maybe all the Bucks need to do is be different. Just carry over their regular season success into the playoffs. Get a bruiser and better shooting. Along with a PG that can step up in the playoffs. This literally might be all the bucks need to do.

I’m really hoping we trade Wilson for a 2nd round pick and sign Skal

Return to Milwaukee Bucks
