Konami is reportedly working on games in the Metal Gear, Castlevania, and Silent Hill series, with both internal and external studios attached.

Anonymous publishing sources told VGC that Konami is refocusing on developing games within its best-loved series. Per those same sources, the first of those games will be a "reimagining" of Castlevania being developed primarily by internal Konami studios.

The report adds that Konami is planning remasters of the original Metal Gear Solid games for new consoles, as well as a potential full remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. Many have speculated that remake specialist Bluepoint would work on an MGS remake, but VGC's sources say it is being handled by Singaporean studio Virtuos (which previously worked on the Switch port of Dark Souls Remastered among other projects).

This could be great, but we’re also talking about Konami and I don’t exactly trust them.

Yea, Konami being the studio working on the Castlevania game is actually a huge bummer.

Agreed if Konami was making a new, standalone MGS game. Find it hard for them to **** up a remastered version of a classic though (although I wouldn't put it past them). Give me Metal Gear Solid 3 with PS5 graphics and it might be my favorite game ever.

PS+ games this month include PGA 2k21 and Castlevania Requiem (with SOTN). Downloading PGA now, and "purchasing" Castlevania for a rainy day. Don't need it at the moment with Metroid Dread out in just a few days and everything else on my gaming plate.

ETA: Oh, Mortal Combat too, if that's your thing. And apparently I will not be downloading now, as it starts tomorrow.

Beat Saber is basically their system seller, but imo Superhot VR is a must own, so long as you have a decent amount of space to move around in. For seated games Moss is a cute little platformer and Demeo is a pretty cool tabletop type game you can play with friends, but is pretty light on content right now and desperately needs a save feature because the games can go pretty long (but that's supposedly coming very soon).

Wife and kids play beat saber, I actually got Superhot a couple nights ago. **** love it. I actually don't think I move that much playing it or at least at the pace I move I haven't noticed it. Once I figured out you could hit bullets with objects it's been a blast, also just getting the hang of throwing stuff. Think it'll have a lot of re-playability just doing dumb/harder stuff.

Yeah, once you finish the game it unlocks like and endless mode and some other ones as well for some re-playability. Also, if you have a gaming PC then virtual desktop or their wireless equivalent works well enough to try that out I'd say. The humble bundle pretty regularly releases VR packages for that.

I want to like PGA 2k21, I really do - I almost bought it at launch. But everything about it is dull. Don't know how else to put it. Glad that I held off, got it for "free", and can just dink around as I want to.

Also sad to see that Castlevania Requiem was apparently a false rumor.

Oh well, back to D2R.

I'm starting NG++ on Nioh 2, (level 279, 440 hours played) and after looking at the latest endgame Youtube videos, I still somehow feel like a complete novice.

Metroid Dread is sitting at an 88 on Metacritic. I didn’t doubt it’d be good, but still happy to see that it’s good. Can’t wait for my copy to arrive.

This has to be the first time I've read something like this in a review:

Also unfortunate: The game’s visuals degrade pretty noticeably when it’s played in docked mode. Specifically, it looks like Metroid Dread continues to run natively at around 720p in docked mode. Try blowing up a 720p image on a 1080p or 4K display, and you’ll begin to see why that’s a problem. When played on a TV, the game looks blurrier and washed out, a far cry from the crisp 720p visuals in handheld mode.

Is it a deal-breaker? No. Metroid Dread is still very playable in docked mode. It’s just disappointing that you can’t fully appreciate the game’s visuals on an enormous TV screen.

To see these performance issues in a first-party Nintendo game is rare, perhaps indicating that Dread was designed to run on more powerful hardware that, based on reports, was originally planned to arrive this year. If we ever do see a 4K-capable Switch, it would not surprise me to see Metroid Dread patched to support it. But that’s purely speculative. For now, it seems that the Switch’s hardware can handle Dread just fine in handheld mode, but docked mode is slightly out of its reach.

Seeing some of the CoD streamers like Nick Mercs and Tfue making $5m+ makes me sad about myself. That's only their Twitch payouts, not even including sponsorships.

Mine shipped yesterday and arrives Friday as planned, but I accidentally shipped it to my parents while I was mid-move and doing address changes to my online accounts. Sigh.

This wasn't clear, but I'm legitimately curious about how this game works if you don't mind indulging. I just googled it and max level is 750? What in the hell.

Interesting. I was watching the IGN Review and their reviewer was saying you pretty much have to play the game in docked mode to appreciate the visuals lol
