Lively is simply a better form Gadz. A fine complementary player to your star and on an already good team, but not the second best component to a Giannis trade. Nope. Not for me. Give me all those thunder picks, you can find yourself a Lively with one of them.
Go Bucks!

But but but... the tweet this morning said if the Spurs moved to #2, they were the sweepstakes winner.

Well - I'm not interested in Spurs crap either. Houston has a slew of 20-22 year old promising guys AND great draft picks.

Moving Giannis is best for the franchise and it's the best for Giannis to win championships the next few years. But you have to go get a guy with insane potential like Flagg. The issue with the Mavs is that AD and Giannis are likely not the best fit, but that may not matter. That team would be favored to win it all IMO. Meanwhile Flagg is the hope we need, while we can recover some of the lost assets these next 5 years. Lively would be a nice add on piece. If he can play enough games next year, you could then flip him for a big growth package as a possibility. We lack flexibility. This would be a huge reset that would add a lot of flexibility while still having a face of the franchise.

It's between Houston and a Flagg package to me if Giannis wants it. Flagg is a special, speacial player. He's also a two way player, has insane desire, and he's a HS senior age right now. It would be a biddding war between these two teams IMO.

Why would Dallas do that? It really only makes sense if Kyrie stays
Kyrie tore his ACL two months ago and is the matching salary they would need to make the deal work.

Wait! Don't forget to include Kuzma. I don't want him to infect Flagg.

Same. Two Texas teams with no income tax down there.
Let's get those two teams in a bidding war.

Mavs would need to offer #1 and AD, Kyrie is negative value and they don’t have any other assets. If I was Giannis I’d prefer to stay in Milwaukee.

Houston has more assets, but none of them come close to Flagg for me. Maybe the Bucks could get Dallas to ship out pieces like Lively for picks if that’s what they want. I’d just rather have the generational lottery ticket in Flagg rather than a combination of Thompson and Jabari or Sengun.

Giannis and Dame for Flagg, AD, Kyrie, Lively. Flip AD and Kyrie for our picks back from whatever teams own them.

Watching Giannis on the post-Luka Mavs would be some depressing ish.

I'd be hesitant to use some of Giannis value to dump bad salary. But if you want Flagg, maybe part of this equation is dumping bad salary.

i forgot about Kyrie's injury. Dallas has no business trading for Giannis. We dont want their package and they aren't going to win more with him than we would.

More likely Dallas tries to dump AD for young guys and picks?

Yea, I somehow memory holed that one too. Seems like the move for Dallas would be to trade AD for whatever they can get. Let Kyrie's deal expire. Build around Flagg, Lively, and whatever you get for AD.
Flagg dream is dead.

No idea if he gets traded, but if he does, I think I'd bet on it being a Castle + #2 + other picks type of package from the Spurs.

Harper and Castle could grow into a dynamic back court. There’s a lot to like there, doesn’t even scratch the surface comparing to Giannis but I get the appeal. I’m keeping Giannis tho.
RIP Kobe Forever. GOAT 8-24. Long Live Giannis
