But 46 wins is a bit comical unless Giannis misses a pretty big chunk of games. Simply no longer having Beasely on the roster is probably worth at least +4 games from last season...lol.

The only way we win 46 games next season is if we deal with bad injury stuff all season to core guys. Which is totally possible so I wouldn’t rule that out.

But anyone who thinks our team wins 46 games even with good health is smoking crack.

If only Johnson had Green to pass to in summer league, we wouldn't have looked so dysfunctional offensively. Cuz Magic was running the offense well when he had teammates who could score halfway decently. Something to look out for.

As for Green specifically, I've seen situations when he looks like he can create his own shot ok & others where he's lost in that department. He's not a slasher, but maybe has something in the ball fake/hesitation to mid-range j.

There's that, but he always looks damn good finding space off the ball. Once he got hot he was working those give and gos, DHOs, the toss backs. Dude is a **** flamethrower and nobody can get to his release point. I like the Trent signing but I really think Green earned that chance. Good problem to have, ultimately.

3. Milwaukee Bucks
Average wins: 46.7

As I noted in my piece on the most likely teams to improve and decline, age is naturally a key predictor. Milwaukee had the league's second-oldest roster last season when weighted by minutes played, younger than only the LA Clippers. Based on that factor, it's no surprise Milwaukee comes in slightly below last year's total of 49 wins.

Worth noting that Pelton's projections are always fairly mean-regressed so the win totals for good teams tend to undershoot the O/U. Celtics only projected at 52.4 wins this year and Cavs second at 50.6. Thunder tops in West at 53.7. Last year the Celtics were the only East team he had projected above 50 wins (a pretty modest 54). So it's all relative.

Only for him to log a combined 11 minutes in the first 5 games of the actual season....lol.

It's not even Oct and you are starting off with pessimistic vibes.

I may have been unclear, but I don't think Green is going to start, I just think he's ready to, deserves it, and would thrive. Trent was signed to be the starter.

Green's minutes actually went up after Doc took over (13, 14, and 17 MPG in February/March/April). He'll get his chances and as usual, the "coach doesn't play young guys" stuff is largely an imagined narrative.

Bucks waived Alston, opening up a slot for the Ex. 10 churn to try to stock the Herd. Akinjo and Liam Robbins still on Ex. 10 deals (Badji waived a couple weeks back). Robbins could be a dark horse for a 2 way if he can make it to camp and turn heads vs. Pasecniks. Wouldn't think he'd still be on the roster if they didn't plan on taking a look against the big boys.

To the people who always laugh at me when I say fans make a difference in sports. And this baseball. It's even more important in basketball.

This right here and dont be shocked if AJ Johnson gets minutes this year you can’t teach speed and athleticism like he has. Doc will play the players that deserve minutes.

Bucks were #20 in bench net-rating last season and I'm actually surprised it was even that high. The fact that a 35-year old Pat-Bev came in and immediately looked like our 5th-6th best player makes it easy to see why. Washed Crowder, Cam Payne being meh, the corpse of Gallo getting rotation minutes down the stretch, and too much early season PT to bad, young players.

Flash forward to the 2024 opening day roster, and now we're actually able to roll 4-5 deep with quality, non-ancient rotation veterans off the bench. That alone is gonna boost the RS record even with the inevitable load management of the top guys. I mean, which 6 through 10 was better, now or 2019?

2019: Hill/Donte/Pat/Korver/Ersan

2024: Wright/Green/Pat/Prince/Bobby
