Cant trade Dame straight up either, contracts are off by 11k.

Gambo is like PP's prophet. He'll be working the trade machine trying to find every avenue to send Dame out and get Jimmy

That 2nd apron is a bitch. Maybe Horst can talk Pat into early retirement to get under the 2nd apron, and he can worry about his real estate business lol.

Will be interesting to see what the Bucks have up their sleeve.

Waiting would be an interesting roll of the dice for Miami. Sure, Butler gets more money in a sign and trade, but I wouldn't be shocked if he said screw it and didn't want to help Miami.

Reminder that we could have gotten Butler straight up for Middleton 6 years ago.

I said I wouldn't hate Dame for Jimmy, but I would dislike it cuz of the age & contract situation. I'd prefer to roll w/ Dame, if that's my option. But I'd still want Fox or Reaves+Cam instead of Dame, if those deals were out there.

It'd have to be Khris+ for Butler to be palatable. Khris, Bobby, Pat, '31 1st is legal for us cuz it gets us under the 2nd apron. But there'd have to be a 3rd team involved, for MIA to send 5m in salary to. For us, it's really going all in on win now & w/ a big 3.

If the Bucks are going to use the '31 to land Butler, hopefully there's a Sonics team back in Seattle by the end of the decade.

Not endorsing, just spitballing:

MKE: Butler
MIA: Carter, Huerter, Hardaway, MKE '31 1st
DET: Middleton, Burks
SAC: Portis, Connaughton

- Bucks go all-in (yikes) on Giannis/Dame/Jimmy.
- Pat Riley gets a perfect "Heat Culture" prospect in Carter, gets the team under the tax, and adds a future 1st for Jimmy.
- Detroit continues their reunion tour, bringing in stabilizing vets to help push for the play-in, all at the cost of cap space.
- Kings bolster their frontcourt while keeping their future draft picks.

I have purchased 1 Bucks jersey in the past 30 years, a Jrue Holiday.

I won't be able to purchase a Jimmy Butler jersey fast enough if we trade for him.

If we could acquire Jimmy then trade Dame for a bunch of solid pieces to put put around Giannis and Jimmy, this would be a dream

That's been my train of thought too. Not saying this is my preferred route. Just it's more arguable than trading Dame for him as opposed to players who actually extend the Giannis window & maybe beyond into those Seattle looming yrs.

To wit, it's also been more of my thinking if you're going to trade the '31 pick, preferably do it for someone who may take you thru that period, unlike Butler.

If this is to be our end, then I would have them make such an end, as to be worthy of remembrance.

No way I trade Dame for Jimmy. It has to be for Middleton/Bobby/Pat, etc. Time to do it and swing big. Giannis/Dame/Jimmy healthy in the playoffs would seemingly be title worthy.

We can do it all in 1 deal. We'd need to find a team that would take Bobby or Pat in to the MLE or a TPE, or Detroit could take them in to cap space. Detroit would want draft compensation to take Pat. We could also deal Dame for Jimmy, but would still need to drop below the 2nd apron because of a slight contractual difference.

I'm guessing the Bucks have teams that will trade for Bobby giving up draft compensation, but haven't pulled the trigger simply because we didn't have a target for that draft compensation. Wouldn't be shocked at PJ Tucker getting sent back to Miami in this deal.

Butler is just as injury prone as Middleton.

Love the Khris/Lopez/2031 for Butler but we need a 3rd team and is that the Best the Heat can do? And will Giannis allow it?

I'd be in for this, but don't think you guys would go for it. Would kill your spacing and what other bigs do you have besides Lopez?

Ps I come in peace lol

Edit:
I know I floated that idea all summer long but that ship has entirely sailed.

The Rockets are in 2nd place in the West and playing really well. Top 5 in a lot of power rankings. They are a legit contender to win the West.

So right out of the gate I don't think its odd to say they might trade some of their young talent for a proven vet.

On top of that, they are currently sitting 3rd in defensive rating and 12th in offensive rating. Is it crazy to think they could talk themselves into Middleton making another big playoff push and being the piece that takes their offense to the next level?

I'd say it's absolutely crazy to think they'd move Eason for the guy who's sitting out next game due to tendinitis in his recently surgically repaired ankles.

This is probably the type of deal that we'd have to look at. Substantial risk and age on both sides of the deal. No one's giving us good, established young players for those guys anymore.
