It's possible they wait until summer of '19, after the Bucks season, to get rid of the BC. Perhaps sell what they're going to sell from it during the season and then get rid of it during that offseason.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I didn't like the look of it in the renderings either but I'm curious to actually see it. I'm going to head down there sometime this week.

Seems like zero qualifications outside of maybe a degree. Other then that just wants you to be a good bloke with a good work ethic.

Not going to help either. Yikes. The car jacking stories are really scary especially when you factor in that they are happening mid-afternoons, obviously at random, and in some cases perceived safer areas. And the fact it is often teenagers is troubling. Hopefully things turn for the positive in the near future.

If that entertainment district gets rolling, that should help alot. Not that I ever really considered the immediate BC area bad. I heard back in the day it was a little rough. I guess when you head west it gets a little more desolate and I've heard people that had cars broke into when parking on the street. But I never had much issue in the immediate BC area nor had a ton of concern if a person was smart.

I think downtown is traditionally one of the safest neighborhoods in Milwaukee.
At a party given by a billionaire, Kurt Vonnegut informs Joseph Heller that their host had made more money in a single day than Heller had earned from his novel Catch-22.

Heller responds, “Yes, but I have something he will never have — ENOUGH.”

Beyond the structural 'topping off' milestone, the final roof decking was effectively placed on September 5th:

Now, the race to finish the raw shell begins...concrete is being placed around the perimeter of the ice rink, and a 'jungle jim' of scaffolding has been erected on the NE & SW sides of the upper bowl. No functioning interior overhead lighting is evident:

There will be a lot of nitpicking when this is complete but it's shaping up to be pretty great.

One of the key elements of the Milwaukee Bucks arena project — an entertainment district intended to create year-round activity and a link to the rest of downtown Milwaukee — is finally under construction.

With the arena building on track to be fully enclosed by winter, construction work is ramping up along its east side. The pavement on N. 4th St. between Highland and Juneau avenues is ripped up, pilings are being driven, and leases secured.

During events, the mall will feed fans into the main entrance. More important, in terms of the transformational impact of the project, it will serve as the wide base of what Bucks president Peter Feigin calls the wine-bottle-shaped funnel of buildings and beer gardens connecting the arena to the bars and restaurants on Old World 3rd St. and beyond.

Feigin indicated that the first tenant would not be a brewery, but he would not provide additional details. He said more specific plans for two key buildings in the "Live Block" will be revealed soon.

Also coming soon is the naming of the first major tenant for the complex. "They'll start construction next month," he said.

Construction of the entertainment district has not progressed with the crisp timetable that has been seen for the arena itself, new parking ramp, or the $31 million practice facility that the Bucks built and opened in about one year.

Originally, the Bucks said construction of the entertainment district would begin in the spring. That deadline was missed. At the time, a team official acknowledged the complex would not be complete by the time the arena opens for the 2018-'19 NBA season.

Nevertheless, Feigin said this week, there would be plenty of amenities in the outside area to engage fans at the opening. The area, he noted, isn't meant just for game days, and will have gathering spaces and a plaza for outdoor concerts and other events.

The $524 million arena is being built with $250 million in public money. The Bucks' development arm is privately financing the entertainment district.

The team has a large swath of land available to work with. The space was once occupied by the city-owned "Legends" parking garage, nicknamed for the sports bar that once faced the BMO Harris Bradley Center.

"That parking structure was huge," Feigin said. The site lies east of N. 4th St. and extends from Highland to Juneau.

Until recently, heaps of rubble and twisted steel from the ramp shared the space with construction equipment used to build the arena. Much of that has now been cleared out, and "micro-piles" have been driven in to support the buildings.

Construction trailers for Hunzinger Construction, the contractor for the entertainment district, are parked in the alley along Old World 3rd St., just south of Ugly's bar, 1125 N. Old World 3rd St.

Feigin said that once the entertainment district is set, there are two crucial developments that remain to be settled in the space the team controls.

The first is a parcel just north of the arena, which the Bucks are marketing as a home for a corporate headquarters with hundreds of employees.

"The whole key to this is the density of the traffic, to work here and to play here," Feigin said.

The second unknown is the Bradley Center site.

The Bucks take control of that building once they receive an occupancy permit for their new arena. Bucks renderings show a new building replacing the 30-year-old Bradley Center. But Feigin indicated that it's a place-holder image.
