Giannis to Spurs is best for Giannis... Not sure if it's best for bucksFrank Nova wrote:Prez wrote:No idea if he gets traded, but if he does, I think I'd bet on it being a Castle + #2 + other picks type of package from the Spurs.
Harper and Castle could grow into a dynamic back court. There’s a lot to like there, doesn’t even scratch the surface comparing to Giannis but I get the appeal. I’m keeping Giannis tho.

Because a bunch of 2k dweebs are trying to speak it into existence.German Athens wrote:But if Giannis requests a trade, I’d imagine one of the only franchises he wouldn’t want to go to would be the one that just traded their superstar without his consent.
Luka was completely blindsided and gutted over that deal.
Why would Giannis want to go to that org?

I don't see Giannis sanctioning a trade to Dallas. Not sure that situation is better for him as a title contender than we are.
Spurs and Rockets probably have more to offer him.

Well - I'm not interested in Spurs crap either. Houston has a slew of 20-22 year old promising guys AND great draft picks.
Ok but only one has big value and the jury is out for most on if he has "just" plus potential or star potential. And their draft picks are solid IMO, not great - they just have a bunch of them. The unprotected Brooklyn swap is the only one that really catches my eye. Houston has just been greatly overexaggerated as a homerun package IMO.
The dream Giannis package died tonight.

a. I don't know how the air would be sucked out of this thread when Flagg doesn't remotely fit AD's timeline. They have to go 1 or the other.
b. How is it a good thing to not have options in case Giannis asks out or leaves us w/ nothing for the better part of a decade?

It’s just wild to me so many of you, and Bucks Twitter (outside of Nate Marzion) are all entertaining this whole Giannis trade ****. I literally cannot escape it and it’s maddening. I’m out for a while from these threads and Twitter….good riddance. He ain’t going anywhere.

The three in bold all want to be the same tall PG lol. Unless you want Bailey, I guess. I think he's way riskier than Harper.

Yay. Why wait for the Kohl era in 2028 when you can have it now?

Agreed it's most likely not happening. But it's something to talk about. We have no FRP, free agency doesn't start for awhile. But I understand checking out for awhile.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I think part of the pandemonium around a potential giannis deal is the unknown and hope that maybe they’d get enough to reload.
As is, the thought of running this team back sans Dame/Brook is so uninspiring and depressing. There’s not really a win available this offseason.

I'm sure a good portion of that is coming from fans who are just Giannis stans and don't give two craps about the Bucks future. They go where he goes.
I'll never understand rooting for individual players over your team, but to each their own.

This sort of goes both ways in a really interesting way - just playing devils advocate, mind you. But I think there's a legitimate argument Bucks fans who don't root for any one individual player - even Giannis - can make that say you should take a gamble on trying to reload using Giannis because the non-Giannis future here is so bleak right now.
I don't know where I stand and I'm not sure it's black and white. But that all makes it interesting. It's conjecture in a really depressing offseason for us, lol.

It all changed when Dame tore his Achilles in the playoffs. Everything is on the table now. Giannis has two years left on his contract then he can walk for nothing. Next year is brutal with Dame out, so you’d really have to sell him on 26-27, which Dame would likely be opting in to (at 36 returning from a torn Achilles).
If Dame doesn’t tear his Achilles this wouldn’t even be a scenario. You’d just work on trading Dame for whatever instead.

Really? I see it as the opposite. I personally couldn't care less about Giannis. I'll always love that he helped my favorite team win a title, but that was four years ago, and the Bucks have no draft picks, no young players you can bank on being key players on the next contender, and they don't have the benefit of a market where guys will want to come and play as free agents.
Frankly, I can't understand the people who don't see the need to trade Giannis right now.

Yeah this. I don't think I agree with you but I completely get it. I think most of why I don't agree though is because nothing out there is interesting to me and I have no faith in our FO putting things back together. If I trusted our FO then I think the Dame injury would have pushed me over the edge and into draft asset hoarding.
