Dealing with people who exhibit the "smartest person in the room" syndrome can be a challenge. One approach is to listen their opinion while also encouraging open-mindedness. It's important to create an environment where all voices are valued.

I’ve been arguing all offseason that Brook doesn’t hold this great value. Our asking point being a single first round pick really drives that home. Hopefully they can get it done and ship that pick out for a more versatile player.

Also, EC> WC.

He’s not a defensive wing though. He plays best as an undersized 4. If he’s our defensive wing the season is over before it started.

He is a better PJ Washington defensively and offensively but he's older and doesn't rebound as well. People around here wanted Finney-Smith and Prince is better than him too. Actually, if you look at per 36 and treb% all 3 are close when it comes to rebounding. He will play the 4 but guard wings because besides Giannis, Portis, Randle, Mobley, Banchero, Jackson Jr, Towns, Williamson, James, and Gordon there are no real big 4s. I guess Lauri can be added given his height but he is not someone who does much banging down low. Today's NBA 4s are big 3s(Tatum, Leonard, Durant, James, and so on ...).

I don't see this as at all. Prince isn't particularly good at anything.

I'm guessing so they can reroute the pick to Brooklyn for Cam Johnson. Something like that.

Idk see how we can acquire Johnson when Lopez is the only salary slot that comes close to fitting (and even then it would have to be 2 for 2.) 2nd apron we can only send 1 for 1, 2 for 2 etc. and we obviously can't take on more salary then we send out.

Presuming Gery the GOAT is in the know on this one, we still don't know what else would likely be coming back in addition to match salaries. It could be an effective 3&d 2. So that wouldn't affirm Brook's supposed lack of value. It's still positive anyway.

It may affirm, however, that means the Bucks are continuing w/ this plan to set themselves up in the post-Dame yrs, ala they did by drafting high upside likely projects. Or they could reroute it, but assuming that's their intent is confirmation bias.

We could include Pat in the trade to acquire Cam while getting under the apron, but you'd probably need that 3rd team sending some salary + pick/s to Brooklyn.

Dump Pat and get into First apron which really should've happened already.

Collins has his flaws but he can space the floor, run the break, catch lobs, and is no worse of a defender than Portis. Taking Collins back would also free up the ability to trade Portis for a player like Terrance Mann

Would Mann, Kessler, and Collins improve the Bucks over Patty C, Lopez, and Bobby?

If you could get Kessler and Collins for Lopez and Pat, I’m all over it.

But I’d rather keep Bobby over acquiring Mann. Mann seems redundant now that they signed Prince and Wright.

Why would 32-year old Delon Wright make an awesome 27-year old 3&D guy redundant? Mann is probably the last guy the Clips trade after losing PG, but he's more than just some catch & shoot dude on offense. Let's not forget he basically closed out the West 1-seed a few years back when Kawhi went down. I can't think of many more perfect fits next to Dame in the backcourt.

He is probably a hard get because he fits next to Harden like he does with Lillard but the Clips still need size. Also, they have Jones now to defend next to Harden too so it makes trading Mann a possibility, imho.

I'm guessing the Brook pick(s) and players would go to either Detroit for Beef Stew, or my less likely hope to Atlanta for Okongwu.

I'll also bet anyone $5 that Gery is under selling the package, and we get more than just a 1st.

If you can't get one unprotected first for Lopez then keep him...he is too valuable to trade away for less than that.

Pat could go out as part of this deal. As long as we're under the 2nd apron when the deal is completed, it's legal.

He's more valuable to teams that need regular season wins than he is to us, a playoff wins or bust team.

Nobody wants to hear it, but AJJ doesn't have the quickness to take 1's off Dame's hands, & that vid reinforces it.

Crazy to watch him in high school wearing Freak 1s. Probably never imagined being his teammate not too long after.

Something about the fact that we updated the thread title for this is cracking me up. Not like signing Umude was a huge move or anything but it's still more than Bev making a tweet.

he needs to get back to this mentality, no more passing out of the restricted area like he did so often last season. Dunk everything, Like DHam used to

The Nets currently have our "fake" 1st next year, as they only get it if it lands in the top 4, otherwise to New Orleans and then obligations extinguished. Maybe use Brook to unprotect that pick for Brooklyn in order to secure some combo of Cam/DFS/Sharpe that is feasible. Tricky for NOLA to match-- maybe we loop in their rumored Ingram deal with the Kings.

MKE: Johnson, Sharpe
NOP: Lopez, Huerter, SAC '27 1st, SAC '29 1st (lottery protected)
BKN: Barnes, Connaughton, Beauchamp (into TPE), MKE '25 1st (unprotected)
SAC: Ingram

Should be legal as it is Brook for Cam, Pat for Sharpe, Beauchamp into TPE, ending up below the apron.

Lillard / Bev
Jackson / Wright / Green
Middleton / Prince
Johnson / Portis
Giannis / Sharpe

What difference does it make? Even if he could handle PGs it wouldn't mean Dame could all of the sudden check SGs. Either way there's going to be a defensive liability in the backcourt.
