I don't see this being a big deal either way. But IMO I do think the NFL format is the most logical and fair to the high seed. But, it also runs into the problem of having to wait for all series to finish before starting round 2. Now, you can have a day or two overlap.
It would be just for the Conference Finals, which would then be just the semifinals, since the conference distinctions would go away at that point. The NFL is not so dumb as to abolish Conference Champions.
Reseeding the 2nd round would be fine.

Yea, I can't imagine they take such a drastic step like this in regards to the ECF and WCF. If you were going to go down such a path you should just eliminate conference all together, or start the reseed at beginning of playoffs 1-16 like has been kicked around for years. Don't half ass it like this.
For the NFL comment, I was referring to round 2 happening this weekend where the highest got to wait and play lowest seed remaining after round 1.
