Fan favorite energy big double double machine (14 and 9 in less than 30 mins per two years running) who could put up even bigger stats in the right environment.

Only 28 on a cheap locked in deal for years to come. Serious loyalty low-ego (no qualms coming off the bench) and commitment to winning proven. Deep playoff experience is a plus despite spotty record. Shooter.

All definitely reasons where the Bucks could keep him. But also where other teams could make us highly enticing offers.

Im not saying Im for it, but what would Paul take at this point? Are Suns desperate enough for depth that a combo of Allen, Portis, Pat, Marjon + 1st get us close?
I desparately want us with a floor general to put alongside Giannis

Jesus no. We're the desperate ones if we're adding a first round pick and Marjon here.

Can't see Mat Ishbia parting with Chris Paul at this stage. They are all-in. I think they try and trade Ayton for a 2 for 1 type thing.

CP is probably going to get traded to a team looking to cut salary and will end up as a free agent. If he's only interested in ring hunting, maybe he'd sign with the Bucks for a 1-yr vet min. That's about the limit of my interest.

Gotta be a better point guard than Chris Paul available for cheaper. TJ McConnell?

Nah, I think them immediately trading for Durant means that Ishbia isn't afraid to shake things up, and it's beyond clear at this point that the typical CP3 (3-year) timeline has run its course. They'll look to move him for either depth or a similarly paid/flawed starter (Gordon Hayward?). I think with the non-guaranteed contract that'll be attractive to some rebuilding teams, he's as good as gone.

I wouldn’t even do that trade package without MarJon and the 1st lol.

You could get a real player for Bobby/Pat/Allen who isn’t 38 and just about to fall off a cliff IMO.

I am in favor of trading Bobby for a defensive minded wing or shot creating guard. I think there are definitely teams that could talk themselves into a scoring/rebounding big with shooting range on a winning team, the 19/12 per 36 numbers, and overlook the glaring postseason flaws with him. If he has legit trade value I think now is the time to capitalize.

Chris Paul cannot stay healthy. He couldn’t in his prime, he damn sure can’t now nearing 40. Vet min or nothing.

What would it take to get Rozier? Would Allen and PAT for Rozier be enough? Would we have to cough up a first round pick as well?

I hate myself for what I'm about to say.

If Middleton opts in I'd trade him for CP3.

I get that. But the thought of Giannis never getting to play with a point guard sticks in my craw.

hmmm

Paul/Jrue
Jrue/MarJon
Khris/Joe/Crowder
Giannis/Crowder
Brook/Giannis

It's a pretty good run it back scenario if you can get Crowder back on a decent deal and he can get his legs under him. Would still need to find a couple of ring chasers or other useful guys on prove it deals.

I'd roll that dice with a new coach.

No. You'd need more salary. I'd think Bobby would have to be in the deal too since our picks are trash. Quick scan of their roster I think Bobby makes sense on it. Bobby and Allan appears to be enough salary to match. I'd prefer to keep Allan over Pat if they could toss in a cheaper contract somehow as filler. IDK if we'd also need to add a protected pick, maybe. I'd generally think Bobby/Allan is in the ballpark of fair though.

Yeah I can appreciate the sentiment, I think we can do better than a broken Chris Paul tho. He’s just an ego made of glass at this point in his career. A decent floor general still when he’s healthy but having to tip toe through the tulips for 82 games just to watch him miss important playoff games is gonna stick in your craw much worse I think.

As far as upgrades go I think we just need someone a little better than Jevon Carter. And not that I don’t really like Carter because I do, we could use a lead guard more in the Tyus Jones mold than someone who looks for theirs 1st like Carter always does.

Maybe next year the new coach will wisen up and make Jrue the SG and insist we bring in a real facilitator. Like I said, I totally agree with you, I just don’t think that player is ever gonna be Chris Paul. I would honestly hate that so much lol

If Jrue is still here he is the perfect guy to pair with the classically hated score first weak D guards this board generally hates, even as we watch them on the opposing team light us up over and over. If there is a way to get one of those guys while keeping the big 3 it is a big change/shakeup for next year and see how it plays out. It would probably be the route I look for as I think big star trades seem really unlikely here. Find a Bobby/Pat/Grayson package of some kind that targets that skill set. See what happens next playoffs. Well, of course if that offensive skill also didn't suck at D I'd take that too, but chances are that guy is too good to be available
