I'm sure a good portion of that is coming from fans who are just Giannis stans and don't give two craps about the Bucks future. They go where he goes.

I'll never understand rooting for individual players over your team, but to each their own.

Really? I see it as the opposite. I personally couldn't care less about Giannis. I'll always love that he helped my favorite team win a title, but that was four years ago, and the Bucks have no draft picks, no young players you can bank on being key players on the next contender, and they don't have the benefit of a market where guys will want to come and play as free agents.

Frankly, I can't understand the people who don't see the need to trade Giannis right now.

It's not black and white and there are examples on each side of this argument, but the amount of people I have seen on Twitter basically renounce the Bucks as their team and only care where and how Giannis can get his next ring is high.

There are a few people (especially in here) that are looking for the best interest in the franchise long term and for the most part it's been genuine, but that's few and far between from most discourse I've seen. Everyone is just treating the Bucks like the villain holding him hostage.

Yea, they're inverting reality, maybe cuz they know the optics are bad, as Bucks' fans, to want to go down w/ the ship if Giannis is captaining.

Though I don't go as far as having the NEED to trade Giannis for whatever the best offer available is. It depends what that is. If it's Flagg & friends, we've just secured our future, which I care about as a Bucks' fan. And there would be 1 superstar for 2 stars (and a prospect or pick(s)) deals I'd be open-minded to, as Giannis is allegedly to departing himself.

Otherwise I'd ride it out for a half season longer at least, to see if a coaching change, fits, & smaller tweaks make us at least a fringe contender. Or I'd go fw if Giannis verbally committed to an extension next yr so there's potentially back end contention here. It's all about cost-benefit analyses. I actually am a Bucks' fan over Giannis fan. Don't know about some of these other cats.

So, hear me out, is this possible? Giannis gets traded for a haul and then comes back to Milwaukee in two years

Would be a gangster ass move. Knows it’s gonna be two wasted years here anyways. We clear all the vets and roll with him and the young studs for his last bit of prime.

The ole Lebron Cleveland routine. Load up on youths and have him come back to lead them. Would make for an interesting story that's for sure.

Castle/Harper/Sochan and picks. Rebuild for 2 years. Giannis wins 2 titles with Wemby, returns, and we 3-peat with him. He retires on a 5-peat. This is the way.imo

As is, the thought of running this team back sans Dame/Brook is so uninspiring and depressing. There’s not really a win available this offseason.

I agree. I think we could actually reload and bring some excitement. Running it back could be depressing.

I would root for Giannis big time if he plays in Texas, and would want to see him fulfilled with great championship opportunities. All the while, the pressure is relieved for me as the fan watching it.

I would applaud Giannis when he came to Milwaukee. I would root for his team to lose, as I do every team other than the Bucks.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Basketball gods showing GA he has a path in Milwaukee. Stay put GA there aren’t any world beaters in the east! A competent coach and some young athletic guys and moves on the fringes and we’re good

But just like Kareem when the window closes (and it has), you have to trade them for the best package you can and turn the page. It's the best move for the franchise and the best for the player. Giannis could legit win a couple more championships elsewhere and that isn't going to happen in Milwaukee. I know the Bucks didn't win another championship after they traded Kareem but they had some very good teams, the Bucks if they get the Giannis trade right could rebuild and be competitive again in a few years.

It hurts, but management really needs to think longterm here. If they don't and Giannis signs elsewhere in 2 years (or demands a trade his final year) the return will be crap and with no picks it'll be a long dark road back. The kind of road some franchises don't survive.

Kareem demanded a trade. They never would've traded him otherwise.

Yes but Giannis is on the verge of doing the same. He's ultra competitive, he wants to be in a situation to win more championships. He's going to ask for a trade or leave in free agency if the Bucks can't compete. Does anyone think the Bucks can still be a contender given what we now know about this aging roster, maxed salary cap, zero trade assets and Lillards blown leg?

I don't see a scenario where he doesn't ask out or leave in free agency.

I am not trading Giannis unless he asks to be trading then I am trading him for the best possible package if it’s Flagg and players or to pair with Wemby you get players and picks.i went through the Kareem trade we did get two top picks for him one being marques and Benson who Kareem knocked out to kinda ruining that pick. We did have some really good teams after that trade but could never beat the Celtics or 76ers who had Bird and DR J Marques did play them tough though.

Celtics imploding may make Giannis want to stay a little more, but the owners might be having nightmares of Giannis and dame on the bench with severe injuries taking up $120m in cap. I love Giannis, but his body seems a little of a ticking time bomb.

Or Okc is thinking: we can trade for Giannis and run unopposed for five years.

Castle
Vassel
Sochan
Barnes
Pick 2
NOP future 1st

For Giannis and Kuzma works in trade checker. I think I’d do it.

Yeah, I’m also going to check out for a while. These Giannis trade ideas are depressing af. I have not seen one trade idea so far that piques my curiosity, and I have no desire to entertain Giannis trades. IMO, you guys are falling for the media’s trap.

I know some folks would like to see a Kings-level team by 2030 but if it doesn't happen until 2035, it think there's still a pretty good chance the franchise will survive.

Bill called out the lunacy of this Giannis "story."

It's so obviously click bait, content generating bull **** in conjunction with the lottery. Shameful journalism. I think this makes it far more likely that Giannis is back, he despises this ****.

Add in more picks and I’d do it. Then I’d take the package of picks and ask Nico what he wants to swap #2 for #1.
