I can say I know a few, where 'it's 5 o'clock somewhere' has gotten a lot earlier and more often over the last two years. You are not alone.

This video is supposed to be for helping to motivate us to do things we don't want. I found this video helpful in changing my mood. My dopamine levels are out of whack from constant stimulation and rewards. Basically, try to limit screen time as much as possible and use it as a reward. Thought I'd pass it along.

Mood reset can start with meditation, exercise, yoga, journaling, nature baths, etc.

Everybody wants to go to heaven but nobody wants to die.

Have you thought about taking a long weekend trip somewhere as a mini-moon? If you aren't a beach person, it's a great time to visit the Carolina coastal cities like Charleston and Savannah.

Thanks guys. We haven't had a chance yet; these past few weeks have been spent getting her moved in and settling things down. But we're looking at doing a mini-moon sometime in the next couple months. There are a couple spots in Costa Rica that look beautiful.

But I'm still holding out a bit of hope that Indonesia will open up soon; their case numbers are way down and they're apparently very motivated to get their dormant tourism industry booming again. But I'll probably have to wait until 2023 for that trip.

Haven't checked on this thread in a while but congrats on the nuptials, man.

Anyone on here have a Tonal? Been reading pretty much everything I can find on it, and it seems like an ideal machine for me and backed by a lot of NBA and other athletes that actually use it to train.

The pandemic has turned me into a permanent work out at home guy, will never have a gym membership again.

Just wanted to say same as M-G-G, you aren't alone. 2020 was the worst year of my life and the most I have drank in a year, probably. Can lead to some habits that are hard to get out of.

Meditation helped a lot for me in terms of starting the day with a different habit and outlook, and then of course exercising can cure a lot of demons if you have the energy to do it.

Wishing you well.

humanrefutation wrote:So, I got married last month. It was quite a whirlwind leading up to it, especially with omicron emerging, people cancelling travels, last minute dropouts, and such. It was all to be expected, and a miracle that this thing came together in relative harmony.

I thought that if there was anyone likely to catch COVID-19 at this thing, it was my bride and I. All the handshakes and hugs and close contact, with at least one moderate exposure to a confirmed case identified after the wedding. But we never did. We got tested three times after the wedding - one rapid test the next day (I had stocked up in October for my engagement ceremony), a PCR three days out, another six days out. Negative. Luck of the draw, I suppose. We were both boosted, so I'm sure that helped.

I am getting tired of this thing, though. Tired of wearing masks. Tired of worrying about considering whether to cancel plans to go to events because of this thing. Tired of having to postpone travels because of changing border restrictions.

My biggest annoyance right now is that our honeymoon is effectively on hold because our preferred destination - Bali - isn't letting in Americans right now unless they're on a business visa.

I can't even get a phone call? Just kidding - congrats!

And I agree with all of the rest of the **** you said, I. am. ****. Done. With. This. ****.

Great fight in the co-main event with Moreno and Figueiredo, just two warriors throwing and tagging each other with speed and skill.

The main event wasn’t as eventful as most would’ve hoped but that’s just how it is with big guys going 5 rounds. Still was a good fight to me to see Ngannou rely on his wresting and grappling to steal the fight when he couldn’t land his punches.

I thought that is why Bloody Marys were created, but if that isn't your thing, a vodka/orange juice at least defers the hangover for a while.

Unfortunately, I am unaware of any hang over cures that don't involve more alcohol.

My hangover cure became drinking less when hangovers started lasting multiple days. That **** isn't worth it.

Burnt toast/bread. White rice. Stuff to soak all the crap in your stomach up. That's all that's ever even remotely worked for me - and it's not much. Hangovers blow.

Yeah the lines between no hangover, acceptable hangover, and unacceptable hangover have changed dramatically in my 30s.

Thx for the suggestions. All I wanted was a damn steak, egg and cheese bagle but I couldn't find one on any food delivery app and even if I did, I'd feel bad about it because I haven't shoveled my walks yet. Hangovers are the worst, that's what I get for straying for my normal whiskey.

I'm so **** sick of spam texts. I get dozens a day from random numbers and email addresses, each addressed to my number and 20 other similar numbers. I have no idea how there isn't better built in blocking on my iPhone or AT&T isn't filtering this. It's been going on forever and I've long pass had it.

It's AT&T, unfortunately. I started getting them daily only after switching. Everything else has been great - way better service here than T-Mobile was giving me - but the spam texts they don't filter are absolutely asinine.

EDIT: Almost forgot the reason I opened this thread. I haven't posted about it post-jackass's vax fiasco, but been watching the AO all week. On the women's side, Danielle Collins just forced a decisive third set to try and make it three Americans in the QFs. Keys and Pegula are already there; Anisimova had a great showing, too, but ran into Barty who appears to be on a mission.

A couple guys are still in it too, competing tonight, but are very heavy underdogs. Fritz will be going up against Tsisipas, and even less likely, Maxime Cressey - who I have never heard of - goes up against tourny favorite Medvedev.

I called them tonight and was on the phone for 15 minutes with tech support. She told me to register with the DNC list for one thing (which I hadn't, somehow) but she said she added a layer of filtering and SPAM protection to my account. I mean, maybe? I'm skeptical, but she says it was done.

All that said, haven't received a spam text since I called a couple hours ago :dontknow:

Pegula, Keys, and Collins are all in the final 8! Good stuff.

Cressey took Medvedev to 4 tough sets, and Fritz went 5 - but both fell. Americans all out on the men's side. Solid showings considering their rankings, though.
