Could’ve enticed Mason Plumlee to sign for the minimum if we brought back Miles or Marshall

This better be quid pro quo for Giannis extending next summer. Otherwise, complete waste of a roster spot on arguably the worst player in the league who is going to probably cause a fight and injure someone.

Giannis will extend because that’s the best business move, him staying past a year or two after that, who knows. Never been a huge fan of the Thanasis signing, and I think he’s easily one of the dirtiest players in the league and also one of the worst. But Giannis is a mega star and he’s earned the right to get what he wants, and he does very often as we can see.

So, it's agreed. Giannis isn't a point guard.

As opposed to the lifetime two way they have given to Wigginton.

And the two cups of coffee 2-way they gave Bronson Koenig. My God what a poor use of that “asset”.

I don’t think Bud liked Thanasis. Let’s see how the new coach thinks

He is an amazing passer. Terrible decision maker with 20 seconds on the shot clock though.
Big if true. Granted, he CAN pass but so long as he doesn't pass on the regular it's an unused asset useless in getting the team through a series. To Be Fair, tho, Giannis may be as good a passer as he is a free throw shooter, if not better. Nothing beats Middleton's full-court lobs, usually to Giannis, for lobs-of-beauty (?). Lobs of Beauty.

Thanasis is capable of playing the PJ Tucker role, minus being a vocal leader. Tucker didn't stop KD but he did wear him out. Bud didn't give Thanasis and Semi a chance, he just loved watching Pat bite on all 3 pump fakes and land on the 1st seat row.

Giannis gets something he wants
Giannis feels heard
Giannis continues to associate the Bucks with family somewhere in his mind

Thanasis isn’t capable of playing any role because he’d foul out in under 10 minutes. We literally saw that any time he was given a chance.

This might be the most untrue post I’ve seen. Kudos.

Thanasis is nowhere near capable of playing anything resembling PJ Tucker’s role, and thank God we won’t have to see that come to fruition.

People hate on Thanasis too much when I don't think he's ever been the worst guy on the roster despite the token spot, people seem to forget that part. Think of him as a culture guy like Udonis Haslem; he's helped mold Giannis into who he is and is just pure energy on & off the court. End of the day keeping Giannis happy is worth it however you rationalize it.

Considering the Knicks locked up Brunson, Donte and Barrett on long term deals (and also have Grimes) it seems odd that they’d extend Quickley in addition to Hart.

But it might happen.

Thibs could just go with a smaller SF. Or they are just amassing talent and waiting until these guys are tradeable hoping Embiid or whoever else comes available.

Or IQ doesn’t end up getting that rich extension and they deal him to a team where he’d make more sense.

none of their current contracts can be considered bad. At worst, some are questionable. Even Evan Fournier’s expiring contract has value.

This may change soon with extensions due for Josh Hart and Immanuel Quickley. We’ll see. The word on Hart’s extension, which will be delivered in August, is in the range of four years, $75 million. Quickley, we hear, is looking for something bigger before the October deadline.

I never understood the Thanasis hate. I could theorize, but it would not be too flattering to the haters. The idea that his presence on the roster is just a sop to Giannis has some sentiments embedded in it that are a little unseemly.

Two points: 1) Really -- you care that much about the 15th roster spot? 2) This is not an unprecedented Milwaukee sports situation.

So weird to still see Thanasis debates. You’d think the consensus would be that he’s not an nba player and it’s clearly a no brainer to have him on the roster.

In my experience, most coaches don't like having the worst player in the league.
