Agreed. One to go.

Good finale. This was developed as a 3 season arc but Showtime hasn't officially renewed.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I've liked a lot of Dennis Lehane's stuff but Smoke was very bad.

Dexter Resurrection S1 finale

Spoiler:
All in all a stellar season of Dexter, right up there with seasons 1-4. Very good finale that wrapped up the season pretty well.

I will say I think the ending was a bit..safe? I wish there was an "oh ****" moment to lead us into season 2 with a bang. Something more revealing about the NY Ripper, or something with Quinn/Masuka figuring things out and picking up where Batista left off, or maybe another old character that comes back into the mix (Lumen? Jonah?), etc. I love how there were so many theories about who the NY Ripper was, and it turns out it's...just some rando lol.

My only other criticism is one that isn't really fair and I recognize that, but I wish we could've gotten more Krysten Ritter and David Dastmalchian. They're both so good and we just got like ~1 episode's worth of content out of each of them before they were killed off. Like David Dastmalchian as the Gemini killers could've been an entire season spanning opponent for Dexter a la Trinity or Miguel Prado, he'd straight up be better than many of the ones in the OG series. I imagine in season 2 Dexter goes to kill Al in Wisconsin, I almost wish Dexter killed Al this season and it was the twin killers Dexter had to hunt in season 2.

Seeing Brian again was awesome, but then it reminded me that they **** canceled Original Sin and we were probably going to get a Brian in his early 20s backstory in season 2 and now we won't get that. Ugh lol

Spoiler:
I'm guessing they didn't do much of a cliff hanger because they didn't know if it would be renewed. Shows get a really short leash. But supposedly the reason Original Sin got the unexpected ax was to devote budget to Resurrection. I like the Quinn character but Batista's death was wrapped up neatly and it didn't look like he believed anything Batista was saying about Dexter. We'll see

Spoiler:
Yeah if there's any uncertainty about it being renewed I could understand it. I also read that Original Sin getting canceled was to shift their focus entirely to Resurrection.

Quinn knowing or not knowing about Dexter has been one of the long running questions of the show, there were a lot of signs/tells in the OG series that he knew something but didn't do anything out of self preservation. Personally I think he knows. In season 5 he has Liddy look into Dexter and Liddy promptly gets killed, but between Dexter fudging the blood report to get him out of trouble (bc Quinn had Liddy's blood on his shoe and became the main suspect) and him generally not wanting to piss off Dexter after seeing Liddy get killed, he kinda left it alone.

Dude saw everyone who was remotely suspicious of Dexter die by mysterious circumstances...Doakes, Laguerta, Liddy, and then in season 8 when he sees Dexter kill Deb's murderer with the pen, it seems like he knew then too but again didn't want to mess with Dexter. I think at the very least he knows something's off about Dexter but was afraid to mess with him after the Liddy situation. If he finds out Batista got murdered too I think it'll be way too much for him to continue ignoring.

Great finale. The first ever from the Dexter series haha.

Really hope they give us 2 more seasons. And I think they will given the ratings these episodes have been getting on sites.

Alien: Earth is so damn good man. Episode 5 was just stellar and frankly makes me wish we could've gotten Noah Hawley to do Romulus. Not that I thought Romulus was bad, but Hawley would've made it truly incredible imo.

I've been DVRing it just in case it was good. Looks like we're going to have to watch it.

Episode 5 is probably the 3rd best Alien movie ever.
