I don't get it either. If a show or movie is being discussed which i intend to watch and i see that details may being discussed, i'd simply scroll past those posts.

For a show as popular as GOT though and if i hadn't watched the latest episode yet, i'd avoid discussions of it until i watched it and wouldn't expect those who have to avoid discussing any details of it.

It's almost akin to a Bucks game. If for whatever reason i wasn't able to watch a Bucks game live and I intended to watch it later or the next day on my DVR, but then came on here before watching it, i wouldn't expect posters to post in spoilers so that i didn't know what happened before i actually watched the game.

We've argued this point over and over again and the consensus has been to use spoiler tags out of caution for people who haven't seen it yet and want to come here and discuss other shows. You can say "scroll past it," but the reality is that it is impossible to know whether to scroll past something until you've read enough to know a spoiler is coming, and by that point, it might be too late.

It poses such a minimal inconvenience to demonstrate courtesy to other posters here who were unable to see it until now.

Another thing is this is the TV/Movie/Book thread, not the GOT threads. Perfectly reasonable for people to have reasons to read and post here outside of GOT.

It's not a big deal to me, but if hypothetically the spoiler function wasn't available on this forum, it would be very easy to scroll right past, much less impossible. Once you see anything at all in a post involving a show you watch, scroll on by so you don;t catch a spoiler. I do it all of the time on another forum lacking a spoiler function and never manage to see anything which ruins an upcoming episode given i often can't or don't watch shows the night they are aired.

Oh well, carry on.

I started it, stopped, started it again and stopped after the third episode. Now I'm finally committed to getting through all eight. I legitimately loved the Laura episode, and the whole series is amazing to watch, but yea...it's just super out there and I generally have no idea WTF is going on.

Spoiler:
Couldn't disagree more. The plot holes and character inconsistencies to contrive plot are killing me. The showrunners have fully embraced the "you know what would be totally sweet?" approach to writing.

I guess I'm different in that I watch stuff only for good writing. Action scenes are cool, but can't overshadow bad writing.

I thought that episode was amazing but I do admit that the writing and dialogue isn't particularly close compared to the earlier seasons. Whatever, I found most of season 5-6 kinda bland, I'm happy to watch the show for the action now and just to see how it ends up

Spoiler:
I think the dialogue and plot holes are problematic, but I think the time crunch they've been put on to wrap up a show of this scale and magnitude has forced them to take some short cuts. I think its realistic that this series could have gone on for another 3 or 4 seasons if they really wanted to methodically develop all of the storylines. But they were given essentially one full season of episodes to wrap up everything.

I think they've done a good job generally. My biggest complaints thus far have been the shoddy entry of Euron into the story, some of the implausibilities with time and travel, and what I confess is an annoyance with Emilia Clarke's acting these last couple seasons. I am also worried, quite significantly, that the White Walkers will not be given enough time to have a meaningful impact on the conclusion of this story.

He and Laura are probably the reasons I'm sticking with it. They're so great.

Speaking of "out there", I just wrapped up S1 of Legion. I can't take, and haven't watched a Marvel/DC feature film in a while as I find them completely stale, but Legion was a mind humping.

Wet Hot American Summer: 10 Years Later, is **** hilarious. Maybe some people just don't find David Wain's comedy that funny, but I think the guy is a genius.

Got around to seeing Atomic Blond. I really wanted to love it but I couldn't. Something was missing. Perhaps a little bit of levity. Just very generic plot and dialogue mixed with some cool fight scenes.

Decided to try Ozark after the good reviews. Watched the first two episodes and so far it looks very promising.

Finally got around to watching season 1 of True Detective. Can't believe it took me this long. However, I made a huge mistake and watched the last episode first due to HBO Go interface being the opposite of Netflix. At first i just thought it was going to kind of a flashforward thing and then they'd go back to the beginning and bring it to that point, so thought it was still the premiere. With about 15 mins left I realized it had to be the finale. Still went back to the beginning and have thought it was great, would've just been so much better if I didn't know how it ended.

What are some of your favorite Game Of Thrones theories?

Spoiler:
Bran being the Night King seems more and more plausible every week.
