I'm not 100% on this and should've labeled pictures so it's easy to know what is what but I'm pretty sure this is the Tower Lounge.

I could easily make this shot. Would you get ejected if the ball came to you and you took a shot instead of throwing it back to the ref?

Amazing day and super fun to finally see the arena open

Real shtstorm of crowd management though. We were literally trapped behind the stage and security wouldn't let anyone move because of the temporary ropes they had in place for everyone on stage. People were literally passing out and going to medical. I was real close.

Left after the ceremony and had lunch on Third Street because lines were so long to get inside. Expected as much.

Came back an hour later and did a walk thru. Again, crowded, but it shouldn't be that bad for game days.

Loved all the food options and comparatively, the food prices seem OK, due to quality of options.

But, $7 for a soda, $11 for a Coors Light, they are not making it reasonable to go to a game and drink a few of either.

Good thing there are various options around the arena (and more coming) for drinking. But I like to have a couple of beers during the game too. $11/$12. No good. Brats are a lot better at the FF than Miller Park because they toast the bun and they aren't wrapped in foil. At MP they're soggy. But I can tailgate at MP so I don't eat the inside brats anyway. Yuck.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Gotcha, I assumed Membership Lounge was the replacement for the MVP Club for season ticket holders. Certainly makes more sense as just looked like a room with comfy chairs with view of floor maybe. The MVP Club offered cash bar, food, etc.

Damn, $11 for a domestic beer? $7 for soda? I didn't really look into the prices on Saturday but that is wild. Hopefully that was at least a 24 oz. beer and soda.

Surprised no one has gone the Atlanta Falcons route and lowered prices which resulted in higher sales/more money. This year Atlanta is dropping 12 oz. craft beers to like $5 or $6 I saw. I'm guessing that same 12 oz. glass would be $10-$12 in our arenas. It is just getting harder and harder to justify buying beer at games. But majority, including myself, will likely keep buying. I wonder what the breaking point is...? It is getting pretty close for me. I don't think I would spend $15 on a domestic nor craft beer. I'm starting to pucker with it being at $10.

Certainly will be nice to not as cramped in those (2) BC stores. Although I will have to make sure to go before the game as the main pro shop is a bit of a hike from my seats.

What do the craft beers at Miller Park run? I can't remember. I seem to recall a 16oz for $9. Is that right?

EDIT: Nope - varies between $10 - $14 depending on the beer. Although $10 for a 16oz Happy Place IPA isn't so awful for a stadium.

Let me start by saying I completly agree that prices are outrageous. But to answer your question, they will sell beer at that price until it doesn't become profitable. They have a certain margin and profit they want to hit based on their budget and once that's locked in they won't lower prices until consumers change their behavior.

They don't care if they sell more beer for more money if they are actually making less profit. It's not sound capitalism.

It's a problem for sure though.

$11 for a f’ng Coors is utterly embarassing. What an f’ng joke. These ballparks/arenas are so f’ng ridiculous with this s***.

EDIT: that’s like a 200% upcharge for a schwill beer. A f’ng Coors. I am vomiting.

Can's are $9. Happy Place, MKE IPA, Riverwest Stein. The beers at the "Craft Stand" run $11, $13, $15 but those are 20 oz pours.

The lite beers are usually 24oz pours at least so you're paying $5.00-5.50 a beer just like at an expensive bar.

I don't mind paying $5-6 for a beer at a sporting event but, man, I have a hard time paying more than that, just on principle.

That’s not too far off from pricing at the Bradley Center if I remember correctly.

I felt like it was $7 for 16 oz. and $9 for a 24 oz. I could be off though. Soda seems similar. I felt I paid like $6 or $7 for the souvenir cup option. It was only like $1 more than the "regular".

The Falcons concession experiment is great, but most of the glowing stories about it have omitted that while sales are up, profit decreased. The ownership group believes this loss is acceptable in terms of possible positive benefits elsewhere, but not all teams are going to be willing to take that chance. I also read that the NFL depends on this type of revenue much less than other leagues.

As it stands, though, I never buy alcoholic drinks at games. My breaking point was well before it hit 10 dollars for a domestic. At least with soda there is the souvenir cup option, so I can bring myself to sort of justify the 7 dollars.

I'm pretty sure you could get a 20oz bottle of soda for $4.50 or $5 at the BC last year. Now only $7 sodas from what I saw.

The souvenir cups were always up there, but you had other options

I think the 20oz taps of draft beer started last year at $10, then went to $10.50 mid season, now they are $11, that didn't jump much

But, the 16oz cans of Coors were $8.50-$8.75, those are now $10

The 12oz Spotted Cows were $8, now are $10

Yes, most things only went up a notch, but for many, the new price point is a tipping point.

The $15 margaritas were the most ridiculously priced drink I saw. Nobody was in line for those.

Don't remember what the cocktail station was priced at, it might not have been open.

But, the whole part of the pre-building selling/marketing of this facility was to try and get people to hang out there when nothing else was going on. With pricing like this, that will never happen. I don't care too much. I'll try a few food options, but will likely revert to my regular routine of eating before going to the game and drinking 1-2 beers. That's it.

"Chris Bigelow, a stadium concessions consultant, said the novelty of selling basic food items at a lower price appeared to be a hit in Atlanta. But he has not seen any specific financial figures suggesting that the approach is anything more than a loss-leader.

He added that about 70 percent of revenue for N.F.L. teams comes from leaguewide television, sponsorship and merchandise contracts, so they do not need to rely on money from food and beverage sales in their stadiums as much as teams in other leagues.

“In the grand scheme of things, you could give food away,” he said."

don't know how much different this would be for an NBA team though.
