Diallo would’ve been a great insurance policy/interesting developmental project but he never would’ve played in Milwaukee. Makes much more sense in Phoenix at this stage of his career.

Probably. Imo he would have been good enough to play but obviously wouldn't get past Lopezzes (is this a thing now?) at first and would have troubles getting past Ersan and DJ too until he adds that 3 pointer. Phoenix is shaking up their roster every time shortly after they sign FAs so I'll just suggest trades from 15th December onwards.

While I do agree with Swansons general assessment that the role players arent the guys you should rely on going into a series almost always a role player stepping up (or the inverse of getting insainly abused) often tends to be deciding factors in series.

Problem is often times it can simply be a matter of a guy getting hot so it's not something that should really be banked on

I don't think JR Smith is going to hurt anything, but he could potentially help in limited minutes. Not sure he's quite the cancer some make him out to be. I don't have strong feels either way.

Looking at Mathews game, I think he was brought in to minimize the loss of Brogdon. Basically, get layups at the rim and shoot some threes when open. He gets to the rim well, and I think that is what they were trying to replace with the loss of Brogdon.

He does? The last 4 years his FG% inside 3 feet is only 56% and it's just 12% of his looks (2.0 FGA per 100 possessions). Brogdons FG% his first 3 years at rim was 62% with it making up 43% of his FGA (7.6 FGA per 100)

Matthews ain't picking up any of that slack

It's easy to single out a role player or two that goes off in a given series and say "that's the reason they won" but it's rarely ever true. George Hill balled out against Toronto and no doubt he'd be the guy everyone points to had we won that series. But had we won the series, he wouldn't have been the reason. It would have been Giannis, Bledsoe, and Middleton playing up to their regular season standards, which they obviously didn't.

Aren't there any better free agents than JR Smith?

I would trust Smith's conditioning over Melo's.

He will be claimed before he clears waivers, not sure how that works though is it based on g league teams record last year or nba teams record?

It would be like a rap concert where you have the guy you came to see along with a bunch of other dudes on stage holding mics and doing nothing else.

Can’t the Bucks offer him an nba deal that circumvents the two way deal?
