This sadly ends my dream of Tina Turner putting out a cover album of Bob Seger's Greatest Hits. I will always believe it would have ruled.
RIP Tina

I'm I in the minority to think it not shocking to die at 83? I ask because my wife mentioned she died and said 'only 83' and I said I don't think you can use 'only' after 80. But now I see this and question myself. Is 90 more the cut off?

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

Anything after 80 is just a respectful pause. Can’t say “oh that’s so young!”

Also, 83 is old for a rockstar. Think of all those years on the road, parties till sunrise, bottles of booze, etc.

RIP to Tina. A true American treasure. A queen of rock and soul.

She was a Black woman married to Ike Turner. It's shocking she made it to 83.

FWIW I think Tina was a top 15 most beautiful woman of all time. Just a virtuosic talent as well.

Watched Tina on HBO after work tonight. Private Dancer's release really brought me back. I was freakin young as hell but I somehow vividly remember her music videos from that era and what a huge star she was. She and Michael Jackson were the two artists I was into first.

If listening to the new The National album whilst walking around I think I get about 3/4 through the opening track each time before I feel like I need to sit down and just think about life.

The new Hozier singles are great so far. Francesca is pretty addicting.

Lots of music I'm digging right now. Fun stuff, good summer tunes.

Been a minute for the Generationals.

On first few listens, this is my favorite Local Natives single since Hummingbird (though I really loved Someday Now, too). Ryan with some solo vocals.

Lo-fi surf rock incoming.

Lukewarm take: some of Joe Jackson’s music is a lot more interesting than you immediately think it is when someone says “Joe Jackson”

Even the biggest hits. Steppin’ Out is wild.
