I think the reason JOB didn't stick in the League is because he isn't athletic enough. Not that I am anything but indifferent towards this signing, I just honestly never thought I'd see his name again.

He was just a weird incompatible mix of skills and traits, he didn't really rise to NBA level in any area. Big body with long arms, but a little short, a little slow, not explosive, not a great rebounder, ok passer, ok shooter.

You could imagine if he had one high level skill he'd have been ok. If he was 2 inches taller, or could really move his feet, or could elevate, or had great feel. Any one thing and he'd have had a real shot. Across the board he was sub-NBA level. Made for a very rough watch.

Calling Johnny O’ Bryant athletic is like calling Kyrie Irving sane.

I thought JOB could have been really good if he was just a helluva lot better.

This signing made me look up what DJ Wilson is up to this year, thinking it'll be funny if we signed him back in 2026. Looks like he signed with OKC a couple days ago, the one article I clicked wasn't clear what type of contract. But, I'll be surprised if he makes the team.

Rashad Vaughn is playing in the Ukraine.

Looking at rosters and contracts, it could be a very slim year for buyout candidates. It will be interesting to see if the Bucks fill the final roster spot or leave it open. With Kalaitzakis on a partial guarantee they can always waive him and put him on a 2 way to open another spot.
Dealing with people who exhibit the "smartest person in the room" syndrome can be a challenge. One approach is to listen their opinion while also encouraging open-mindedness. It's important to create an environment where all voices are valued.

What I remember from JOB’s time with the bucks was that he was that he had a decent mid range and corner 3, defense was meh, always seem to be in the right position but would always fail in a hilarious fashion.

JOB was one of my least favorite Bucks to watch. I think it’s because he looked like he should be a good rebounder, but was very much not a good rebounder.
Once, when asked if he was concerned about his former coach Nate McMillan commenting that he has a selfish attitude, Jerome James replied, "I don't even know what he's talking about, I just worry about Jerome."

3 pages of discussion on Johnny O'Bryant signing a camp deal in 2021 is peak Bucks offseason and I love it.

Don't blame me. I voted for Vasilije Micic...

Can someone explain to me what the purpose was with Bryant? His deal didn't have a guarentee date so is there some sort of cap savings by doing this?

Still only 25.

He's so young.

Who's to say that was a bad pick? Plenty of time to pick him back up years from now after he develops in eastern Europe.

Kyrie is sane, he's just extremely self-important. Seems like a pretty sane adaptation considering that everybody treats him like he's incredibly important. I really don't think he's a bad guy, he's just not extraordinary in the way some stars remain grounded with everything that's going on around them. I can't even imagine how crazy I'd seem if people had been telling me my **** didn't stink since I was a teenager. If I would still be alive.

Where would I be if I was in Kyrie's shoes?

Grinding. No doubt.

If a guy never has a positive contribution to the team except as matching salary in a trade, I think that qualifies as a bad pick. Out of that draft class, he was 5th worst in VORP.

Some collosally bad picks psot Giannis and somehow they still won, still hard to believe. Vaughn, DJ, Thon were at the minimum questionable (possibly to awful) at the moment they happened. Can't really blame them for Jabari

At this point in the offseason last year, half of us were ready to jump off a bridge because Giannis had not yet signed.
still learning the game

Hard to say without knowing what the new contract details are. Maybe they let him out to pursue something that fell through. Maybe they got another year added on or some other team option like an Exhibit 10.
