4/40 deal is a good deal. That's less than Isaiah Joe's deal in a lower cap year. AJG just needs to work on his handles and shooting 2s off the dribble while continuing his defensive progress.

Deeply weird take PP.

I think he's actually talking about AJJ and not AJG right?

Players who rely quick twitch don't age well. Skill players like AJG do age well, but age is irrelevant here as this deal would be for his prime years.

AJG just shot 51% from 3 in the playoffs. The Bucks were 28 points/100 better with him on the floor in the playoffs. He's perfect playing off of Giannis. He's Horst's best league entry addition. He'll be here for years.
I think he is talking about Green considering the post he was responding to labeled him as a 3 point specialist but could be wrong.

At any rate, retaining Green long term is priority #1 amongst our current rostered players IMO (well, after retaining Giannis obviously).

Even if you don’t like Green that much as a player I think locked up on a good deal he’d be an asset that would be easily movable.

I love his shooting, every Bucks specialist in the past either sucked ass defensively or lost the ability to shoot in Milwaukee sometimes both. AJ actually hits shots on the move instead of being a slow release stationary shooter too.

I need to know what Green actually shoots “on the move” cause maybe my eyes are lying to me?

Pritchard is not the comp for AJ. Pritchard can really move and handle the ball. And he's very good at getting to the bucket for a guy his size. AJ does none of that.. He just shoots. Pritchard has outplayed his contract.

Kenrich Williams is another guy that fits perfectly in the Midds TPE. Could be the odd man out from Oklahoma since they currently have a couple of FRPs to sign and no spots to do so. Can defend multiple positions, hustle guy, bad shooter. Probably everything you wish Jackson could become. Why not have it a bit earlier?

I'm intrigued, but be aware that there won't be any bounce back from Williams. He has nerve damage in his hand, and is owed $72 million over the next 4 years. He can't rebound or dunk because of it.

Yeah, in my view, that is how you get Coby for a swap. Williams is damaged goods on a horrendous contract. In the same breath, he probably contributes about as much as Kuzma. I really think Coby could blossom into a star next to Giannis. Also, looping in the Okoro thought-- if Cleveland is motivated to dump him for salary relief:

MKE: White, Okoro, Williams
CHI: Kuzma, Connaughton, Livingston, MKE '32 1st swap
CLE: Jackson, #47

If that Shams report is true (which it likely is) I'd lean towards trading Giannis now before its too late. If he doesn't sign an extension or asks out next year we are beyond screwed for a decade+. I'd rather have a young core with upside then the 1st rd exit with Giannis teetering every year situation we are stuck in now.

Lottery order will be sorted tonight

Shams doesn't really have a reputation for reporting bull and I'm sure his representation at Octagon have explained to him the futile situation we find ourselves in.

That doesn’t seem like a coincidence.

Message to the league they might not want to print a jersey of a player (literally / metaphorically) if that pick could potentially be for Giannis.

Among players who put up 50+ 3pa from each coverage type, AJ Green ranks:

31st in wide open 3p% - 46
6th in open 3p% - 43
8th in tight 3p% - 38

If you make the threshold 80+ 3pa attempts:

26th in wide open
5th in open
3rd in tight

Translation: every shot’s an open shot for Dairy.
He’s an elite shooter.

Your analysis is correct, but one sided:

1) I think Green has been underutilized. He is a much better ball handler than we've seen (I saw him a lot in college and AAU), because he is only asked to shoot.

2) I'd take Green over Pritchard on defense and it's not close. Defense is half the game.

If we can convince KPJ to opt in to his PO and Gary Trent to go the Bobby route of signing another cheap 1 yr deal to get us Bird Rights and pay him next year we'll have the full NTMLE ($14.5m) to use on a FA. Who are the top targets?

Bruce Brown jumps out at me.. would be a versatile piece to come in and start at SF but also give us some PG & SG minutes.

Kuzma only has 2 years left on his deal. Taking on 4 years of Williams doesn't make a lot of sense. IMO the Bucks should be trying to work through a mini reset here. Let Brook walk, Bobby and Pat opt in but you're off both after next year, Kuzma is more movable at the deadline or next off season when he's expiring. The goal should be to get to 26-27 with major cap space.

I like the premise as a last hail mary but is there a wing or center version of White? I just feel like the scenarios we're playing with have all our depth at guard (Green/KPJ/Trent).

Mark Williams could be an interesting swing if his price has come down enough since the failed physical....
