I pay for 1000 Mbps speed but due to the way this house is laid out, I can’t use an Ethernet on my PS5. I have one of those outlet type connections set up but that caps me at a stable 60ish Mbps. What I’d give to be able to download at the full 1000 lol.

I only have a 400 mbps service but recently just hard wired my ps5 into in wall cat 5 and wow what a difference in stability.

I am still searching for a good router or mesh system though.

It'll never be a game that I get lost in for hours, but it's fun to hop on and run a couple races each day. The mass races are pure lunacy. Regular races against other people's ghost times are fun. And I've heard good things about the Zen mode but haven't done it myself yet.

That game wasn't really on my radar at all; I knew it existed but didn't think it would be for me. The beta really impressed me though and I have no regrets about buying it.

This is what I got in July when we bought our house:
https://www.bestbuy.com/site/netgear-orbi-ax4200-tri-band-mesh-wi-fi-6-system-2-pack-white/6405440.p?skuId=6405440

It's been excellent, others here have suggested the older AC version in the past but this has AX support. I've only had one hiccup with it when a firmware update required a power cycle. I get 400mb wi-fi out to my property line with strong signal.

I thought about it for a hot second, then realized I haven't played a dedicated racing game in like 17 years (Burnout 3). I think it's a sale item I can check out next Holiday.

I had actually looked at these about a week ago when they were $100 off. i think amazon still may have them on sale. Didnt have much issue until I recently moved.
I'm using a cheap TP Link Deco system right now its ok but i really dislike the 2.4/5ghz handling and its range at times is very suspect. Same size home but it's a ranch with a partial finished LL not a 2 story. I have about 1700 sq ft up and 700 finished down and it just seems it's hard to hold signal as I move more than 20-30 ft from a device. My ring camera on the garage at times sees a bit of a signal loss. Might need to check these out.

Thanks for the input.

We have the AC version, and it works great in our old 1870s house. We have 300mb service, and I get 260 in my office. I love that the satellites have ethernet plug-ins, too.

Hmm. In my current layout I have a satellite in the front room and the router upstairs in my office. My PC gets hardwired in, but my Switch/TV/etc... are wi-fi on the first floor now. Wondering if I can move the satellite around and get those hardwired now...

My PC is right next next to the satellite in my office. On wifi I get about 170; plugged-in is when I jump to 260.

Now that said, I could have a crappy wifi adapted and not know it. YMMV.

Love FH5 so far. It looks amazing, and maybe it’s my imagination but it feels like the driving is better too. It’s definitely more of the same, but my first impression is that it’s organized better than 4.

I’m not really a car or racing game guy, but I always spring for the top version of Horizon.

I didn't quite justify to myself to spring for the premium access, though I'm definitely missing it this weekend while hearing the good impressions

All these good games out and I'm just sitting here spending hours farming ore, knocking trees/mountains down and trying to level out a large enough area to make an endgame base in Valheim.

Loving Mexico so far! I’m heavily debating buying a wheel, I haven’t had one since PS2 lol. Between FH5 and F1 I think it might be time to get back into it. I really want to build a rig, but my wife might kill me lol.

You jerks have me on verge of dropping $100 to play 2 damn days and change early. I think I'm gonna focus that energy into playing through Metroid Dread the next two days instead. I heard it's short.

Nothing wrong with this. I’m pretty content playing a handful of games regularly that I love than trying to keep up with the zeitgeist to find something I might enjoy.

Yea, this is my problem. I've spend way too much money over the last couple years on games I play for a night or two and never pick up again.

Probably going to have to do that too.... But I guess I only picked up gaming during peak pandemic after a good 14 year hiatus. (outside of the week where I pick up Madden, 2K, or FIFA, and do ONLY that for two weeks and then never touch it again. It was the PS5 and FFVII Remake for me.
