Denver gets blown out by Minnesota after beating us be nearly 40.
More proof that this season is basically a crapshoot & we’ll be fine (once we get a big).

I don't know why anyone would pay Ayton, when you can keep getting various combinations of McGee/Howard/Boogie/Whoever from the trash heap every summer and use your real money on actual difference makers.

BUT....he is currently 67 in points all time and likely to finish top 40. He will have 3 seasons at ~Top 10 (arguably Top 5 this year).
Joe Johnson is probably the only other Top 50 points guy to be left out of the hall of fame. What say you?
Here's a fun one, Middleton has a chance to get in if he continues to play well.

? Not sure if you were kidding, but they aren't close to same level player. Midds was never a top 20 player, only 2 weak all star selections and less than 11k points. Midds would have to up his game at 37 like PJ to have a shot.
It was a bit tounge in cheek but the basketball HOF isnt the most exclusive club.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

Would be awesome to watch the nets fall to 7 or 8 by the time KD is back

I don't think Derozan has ever been a top 10, let alone top 20 player until possibly this season...He's been a volume scorer with poor efficiency for pretty much his entire career. His highest scoring season he put up 27 ppg on 21 FGA/9 FTA. He's always been a below average defender...definitely not a HOF unless he finds a way to win a ring in the next few years.

I get why the Suns with CP3 wouldn’t want to pay Ayton. CP3 can make any center look like an all star. Toss a Plumlee in there and they’d still have the best record.

You pay Ayton because he's awesome and guys like Biyombo and JaVale are gonna get targeted mercilessly in the playoffs. Did people just forget how he essentially shut down AD and Jokic in back-to-back series?

Seeing Jordan Poole get buckets on one of the more popular teams in the league makes me a proud King alum/Milwaukee hoops fan. Looney being a contributor on that same roster makes it even better.

Yeah, I think Giannis going nuclear on him in Game 6 made a lot of people forget how good he was overall.

Not purposely calling out you, but a lot of people use "let alone" to refer to something more likely to happen.
As for top 10/20, he has 1 2nd team all NBA and 1 3rd team all NBA. He is most likely 2nd team All-nba this year. That is 3 years where he was awarded by the NBA as a top 20 player (giving a buffer in case he made it due to position). You might not value you him, but I think it is fair to call him a top 20 player if he made All-NBA.

Man, the suns look good year, and they're playing hungry. They're already extremely deep and looking to pick up someone like eric gordon. I believe they're coming out of the west, it seems like this could be their year. If we make the finals will we have the hunger and roster to repeat?

Yea they look like the Bucks of 18/19 and 19/20 before covid. Just straight up dominating regular with the question of will they be able to do in the playoffs. With the general weakening of the West relative to the past chunk of years you have to really like their chances though. Key for them will be whether Paul makes it healthy all the way through the playoffs, I haven't been following close enough to know what they've been doing with any load management on him. Will be interesting to see what moves they, GSW, and I guess if LAL can turn RW into something of a better fit that could get them relevant at the deadline.

Re: ATL - Halfway Point
Right or wrong Chris Paul basically refuses to sit games. Hes played every game this year and he played all but 2 last year. In the playoffs he had the freak shoulder injury, covid, and a hand injury. None had anything do with wearing down. While logically I would think some rest would be good, logically he shouldn't be playing this well at his age so who knows.DingleJerry wrote:Chad34 wrote:Man, the suns look good year, and they're playing hungry. Re: ATL - Halfway Point
Yea it's crazy how good he's been in PHX. In hindsight, the technically correct asset management move would've been to get CP3 for nothing, if not paid to take him, rather than giving up the farm for Holiday. CP has been better and he'd have cost less. However, you never know the butterfly effect of all that and for all we know MKE wouldn't have gotten the title if they did do the technically better move. Funny to think about it and kind of goes to show how tough it is to win a title and the luck/variance that goes into it.

So are the Wiz really going to give Beal $250m when he’s super max eligible? A trade for Simmons might not be so bad for them.

Wizards, on a back to back, are up 5 in the 4th at Philly
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

The Wiz should do that and try to grab Maxey and a pick with Simmons.
