Heck I don't think Giannis put up a fight when we traded Brogdon.

Middleton, for all of his faults, is the perfect #2 when he's healthy because not only is he capable of getting his own shot but he has a real understanding as to his relationship with Giannis. He knows Giannis is the #1 guy, but Giannis is also willing to defer to him for big shots as needed.
I don't think Poole and Giannis would play well together, frankly. Too much hero ball from Poole and I don't think Giannis would respect him in the same way on the court.
I just don't think they'd mesh together. Poole is destined to be a volume scorer on a bad team, IMO.
Middleton is only perfect if he takes a huge pay cut. Which he wont. Him out of shape coming back each season or a random injury and paid well is getting old. I'm game to trade Middleton and Holiday,Bobby,Pat,Allen.
Totally agree , have said that about midds for awhile . I like him , he is just not worth a max contract . Everybody else should be in trade conversations , not giving away guys just to move on though !

I'd consider Poole if there was a coach who will pull the dumb stuff out of him. I can't stand his hero ball play. We'd need a very strong coach.

If the Bucks think / know Dame is going to hit the market and believe we have a shot I could see them holding assets to check that out.

Probably almost takes both Holiday and opted in Middleton in a 4 team trade to get DAME. I doubt one of them gets DAME.

Only way we can get Dame is if he wants to come here. Plenty of teams have way more ammo than we do.

They’ll be using those assets on Embiid.

He's as likely to be moved as Giannis.

We need the lotto to settle out on Tuesday. That will provide a lot of clarify as to what assets some of these clubs have.

Hopefully the recent Durant trade disaster lowers his value.

Lillard is about to turn 33 soon and it will take an overpay to get him. Best IMO to get the right coach and right talent that were previously not in the best of situations, that's why Poole and Kuminga stick out to me as good value.

Functional Lillard in the playoffs would be great, but I would be paranoid all season that we may have performed a Paul/Durant type move...

Not gonna happen, PP. You don't trade an MVP unless something like the Rose situation happens.

Yeah, Embiid isn't going anywhere.
The lottery will be fascinating. If Portland gets #1, they likely keep Dame and run it back with Wemby. If they get #2, though... they are presented with a real opportunity to take Scoot and trade Dame. Anything after that they likely try to move the pick to strengthen the team around Dame.

Re: Bucks Offseason Thread - Trade, news, re-tool discussion
Would you give up Maxey + Tobes for Dame if the deal was there this off-season?
Pelicans could offer a thousand picks to Portland for him too.
Orlando could do something similar if they wanted to expedite things with a Paolo/Dame centered squad.
Rocket, Cavs, Wolves, Hawks etc. All of these teams could put together really strong deals that I don't think we could come close to matching. Portland isn't going to want Jrue or Midds. Our young talent is nothing more than intriguing and I think we only have one first we can trade? Just can't see it happening.

Pretty sure the idea for the Bucks is to trade Jrue and Middleton and use those assets for dame

Maybe if his name was Denise instead of Dennis.

I feel like whoever gets #1 will at least do due diligence regarding superstars available. E.g. if Portland gets #1, can they trade for Giannis without giving up much else and is that enough to win a championship?

Due diligence, sure. But they're not getting Giannis for Wemby. Doncic, maybe?

I've seen A LOT of film on Wemby and imo he'll break the NBA. It's not only about his physical traits or skillset (which are both one of a kind), it's his BBIQ. Obviously you don't want to trade the best NBA player for potentially the best NBA player but if we came to the conclusion that we don't have enough assets to put enough talent around Giannis to compete, I could see some swap making sense.

I agree Wemby is a legit generational prospect. I'm saying there is no way Horst pulls that trigger if offered. A compelling argument can be made, but ain't happening.
