Now they have someone to start at SF for the 30-40 games PG13 misses.

Would’ve been even nicer to have him for 60 RS and 16 PO games in a Bucks uni.

Not sure how Horst could’ve swung it when he’s gonna make >$18MM per on his new contract. Caleb is a good player but loses a lot of value once his salary is in the $18-20MM range.

Edit: Caleb will be earning $8MM per on his new deal when Miami had offered him around $14MM per before free agency started.

What contract are you referring to? The reports I've seen have Caleb getting $8 million (still obviously more than we can afford but nowhere remotely near $18-20 million per).

Wow just saw this. Rumor was he was looking for a deal in the $18MM range after turning down Miami’s offer which was in the $14MM range. Looks like he gambled on himself and lost big.

Why sign then i dont get it could of held out longer instead of taking a 8 million dollar pay cut for 4 years

It’s possible the Heat pulled back their offer once Caleb turned it down.

He probably wasn't getting more money elsewhere and Philly is a good landing spot for him. Miami's contract offer was contingent on Martin opting in for the final year of his contract; once he opted out, their offer was gone.

“ The Heat also had interest in bringing back the 28-year-old forward, proposing a four-year extension on top of his $7.1MM player option before he decided to turn down that option. According to Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald (Twitter link), Miami’s original offer would have been for four years and about $58MM, beginning in 2025/26, for a total of $65MM-ish over five years. However, once Martin declined his option, the Heat could no longer make that offer (they were limited to 8% raises in a free agent contract, rather than the bigger second-year jump they could have included in an extension).”

Twitter thinks the East shakes out like this now: 1) Celtics, 2) Sixers, 3) Knicks and the only time the Bucks are mentioned it's to say they're doing nothing to get better :(

If we cannot add a starting SG, I’d be open to starting Wright and signing Graham as a microwave scorer off the bench.

I'm okay flying under the radar. I think the Knicks got better, but I'm skeptical that adding a 34-year-old Paul George, who's always injured, will suddenly vault Philly. Maybe if Maxey takes another leap and Embiid stays healthy, but the media are acting like this is still Pacers Paul George.

Martin is a very good get for the Sixers. One of the rare role players who seems to get better in the bigger games.

Can't say I blame anyway for thinking the Knicks and 76ers are above us now. They've had great offseasons and were already pretty good to begin with. Seems we're hoping our biggest improvement over the offseason is Lillard being in shape and if he plays like his usual self, we're probably right back in the thick of it.

Our biggest improvement will be having Giannis available for the playoffs. Anything else is a distant 2nd.

I do think Wright + Prince is a significant upgrade over Beasley + Crowder.

Add in a full offseason with Doc at the helms along with one or both of Green and Jackson taking a step forward and we should be much improved.

See if he tentatively agrees to sign w/ you on a prove it if you can clear out a big, & go make that Bobby for sg move then.

But it shouldn't surprise anyone if he just signs w/ Utah, who has space. That's where he signed an offer sheet last season.

Twitter is like the General board here. A cesspool.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

For sure, I was more speaking to the whole season. Agree that Wright + Prince should be an upgrade as well, though how valuable an upgrade that is is TBD. Hopefully improvement from our young guys too.
