Wish he would write longer songs
Shoot, Move, and Communicate...

Spoiler:

I'm just here for my own amusement,"don't take offense at my innuendo..."

Countless waze, we pass the daze...

A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men.

Oh damn, that's a big one. Heck of a life to live to 96 and still perform at such an old age - didn't he have a special with Lady Gaga like last year? RIP.

Hard transition, but dropped in to post this and don't want to forget to share. Haven't heard from Bombay Bicycle Club in about a decade, but heard this yesterday and instantly fell for it.

Tony seemed like a real generous spirit. I'm not much of a fan of jazz vocalists but can't deny his absolute total command of his voice. Favored the light touch as opposed to Sinatra who bulldozed through his material.

Always loved this bit in the Amy documentary when he helps her through a rough patch in the studio.

Wow, Sinéad O'Connor dead at 56. RIP. My old man played a ton of her in our house when I was a kid.

Huge loss, but that woman lived an absolutely tortured life. Hopefully she's found some peace.

They are not in my genre wheelhouse, but I was obsessed with Time to Waste back then. Still keep it on my rock-focused playlists.

I did not think I would ever see anything in the middle of a MIG/RS music Venn Diagram.

That said, Gold Star is cool.

If it slaps, it slaps 8-)

I always thought the line "And they have safety and relief for sale up the street, I see you in line everyday" was so clever.

If anyone is up to this I'd love to see theirs. I started my initial list. I'm up to 2017 playlists I'm pulling from and I have 72 songs.

This feels really hard (especially 1x per band) and I'm going to kind of spitball. Which I'm sure will be inexact but still in general give a good idea. My list feels like it's skewing more modern, but I'm not sure that aspect is incorrect either.

Favorite bands - Struggled the most here. Isolating to one song for my favorite bands was really difficult. None of these were an obvious answer. Maybe Grace Cathedral Hill.
1 David Gray - This Year's Love
2 The National - Dark Side of the Gym
3 The Decemberists - Grace Cathedral Hill
4 The Shins - Sleeping Lessons
5 Local Natives - Breakers
6 Fleet Foxes - Helplessness Blues

(Other) 90s or Older
7 Gin Blossoms - Hey Jealousy
8 Radiohead - Fake Plastic Trees

Other tracks - Struggled with 1x a couple places here.
9 Sam Fender - Seventeen Going Under
10 Jamie XX/Romy (The XX) - Loud Places
11 Coldplay - Sparks
12 Pinegrove - Old Friends
13 Real Estate - Beach Comber
14 Vetiver - Through the Front Door
15 Bon Iver - Holocene
16 Phoebe Bridgers - Motion Sickness
17 Doves - Pounding
18 The War on Drugs - Pain
19 Hozier - Jackie and Wilson
20 Band of Horses - Casual Party

Didn't make the cut - Still just 1x per band. Just stuff I wrote down that I weeded out.
Toad the Wet Sprocket - Something's Always Wrong
Fuel - Shimmer
STP - Interstate Love Song
Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit
Fleetwood Mac - Dreams (yes I liked it before 2 years ago :D )
Clairo - Bags
Death Cab - No Room in Frame
Manchester Orchestra - Top Notch
Arcade Fire - Neighborhood #1
Kurt Vile - Pretty Pimpin'
Pete Yorn - Strange Condition
Josh Rouse - In Between
Ryan Adams - To Be Without You
Atlas Genius - Trojans
Foo Fighters - Everlong (edit in here)

No one could ever accuse me of being a modern country fan, but saw this tweet and asked my sister if he's good. I like and respect Isbell and obviously Sheryl Crow is Sheryl Crow.

Also, share your Spotify playlists. Maybe one for the initial cut, another for the final 20.
