Khris is not slow for a 4. Nobody handcuffed Doc and made him not do Giannis at 5, Khris at 4.

Even the Portis-Giannis-Khris-Dame lineups have posted really positive ret ratings. It's when the lineup includes Brook-Khris (at 3)-Dame when it really falls apart. Last year they had a great net rating though, so that could turnaround.

Khris-Dame-Giannis works on o cuz the Khris-Giannis 2-man game is insanely efficient & Khris is a mid-post slumpbuster when Dame can't hit from long range & Giannis to the hoop. Giannis' mid-range comes & goes cuz it's not 2nd nature like Khris'.

Giannis can guard Porzingis or TimeLord
Can Khris guard Jaylen Brown ? .. Not in a million years.
Brown is close to prime Jimmy as a player. He will eat Khris alive with zero mercy. We can't hide Khris on Tatum either .... He will cook him till Khris becomes ash.
This has been our flaw for so many years. Even TimeLord sometimes cookes Giannis. Brook is worthless against em ... The most logical is to throw Portis on TimeLord and Giannis on Jaylen.
Wish we had Hartenstein ... who knew how an 18y old athletic German leftie with a high motor will turn to be a starter on a contender ?

Khris has had no problem guarding Brown or Tatum.

The 1st time he was available to play this season was against the Celtics, & he could move well enough to actually be an asset defensively, stuffing their drives, & he's less immobile recently, so this claim doesn't hold water.

Putting stock in regular season games (especially vs the Celtics) is a mistake. We beat them by like 35 last year and that's all I heard about; we must be good we beat the Celtics that 1 day.. that and flipping the switch. Both lead to false reality. Celtics (and many) don't always mentally show for regular season games. Them tricking open shots gives us this false sense that we're playing good defense. Just look.. how often is Bobby or KM anywhere near their guy? How often are they forcing their guy into a difficult position or shot? How often can a guy straight-line dribble to the bucket for a layup without worrying that Bobby or KM is going to take the ball or alter their shot... teams missing those open shots/layups because they are garbage or because they mentally checked out does not make that good defense. Put the calculator away and watch who plays defense. Watch who is difficult to get around and who is nowhere near their guy because that's what's going to lose us a series. Then, once you realize it's Bobby and KM, trade them for dudes that can play D and play fast.

At this stage in the game there are no safe trades to make. If you’re looking to get better you kinda have to gamble on guys with some warts. That’s the inherent risk right now.

I’m all for taking calculated risks on players that have warts to their games or may have warts to their fit on the roster. However, if part of that risk comes with dudes that are consistently known to miss time on the court, disrupting the chemistry seems like a serious deal breaker from where I’m sitting.

For good reason. We're playing basketball not running track. Good thing too, cause Dame walks up and down the court.

The people who actually watch games know the Celtics couldn't drive past Middleton, so they just forced switches and attacked Dame every time.

It's still hilarious that Dame's PR guy ever brings up defense.

I acknowledge Dame struggles around screens because that's how teams try to injure him and have so he goes way around and ends up 3 steps behind. 1 v 1 he's quick and disruptive. Help D he's in position usually but has lapses there. For the screen issue we can scheme some show or switch to help him.

With KM and Bobby they are basically non-existent on D so it's hard to scheme a D around that. We can't help and show everytime their guy gets the ball.

The East IS turning into a track meet and the West isn't far behind on that. If other teams were also slow we wouldn't look like we're in an old timers team when KM and Bobby play together

You lie a lot. Then again, you don't know who defends because you don't watch games.

I have a pause button on my dvr... try it once.. just randomly pause when the other team has the ball and see how far KM is away from any opposing player. Usually I can't even tell who he's supposed to be on and he ends up running at the same guy someone else is running to.

The teams better when KM is on the floor, and plays faster when he's on the floor. You really hate facts. It's getting old.

Evolving thoughts:

Khris for Levine maybe ok as Levine is much younger and playing really well.

I would prefer Portis for Williams, although I have not seen Williams play. Then Khris remains with us. Williams will back up Lopez.

Let us see how Tyler Smith plays today perhaps as a substitute for Portis for now.

The Bucks have a better defensive rating with Bobby on the floor than Dame on the floor. Amazing considering Bobby gets almost no minutes with Ajax on the floor.

The Giannis/Bobby pairing has actually had awesome results since the cup game.

4 choices mainly now:

Khris and Portis and Pat C for Beal, Butler or Levine

Portis for Williams.

What are the distribution of preferences of our board?

Bucks and Bulls could make a trade directly for LaVine if so inclined, per spotrac:

Bucks trade: Khris, Bobby, Pat (into a TPE)
Bulls trade: LaVine, Chris Duarte

Miami pulled Jaquez in the first quarter during tonight’s game and he hasn’t came back in since. He’s not injured. It must be trade related.

*Nevermind he’s back at the end of the third. Spoelstra’s rotations are just wack.
