Which is why I think people saying Knight could be our 3+D guard are nuts. He may be up there with the worst ones like Brandon Jennings. He can't set the pace. He doesn't even know what pace is. 1 on 3 fastbreak? You best believe he's running up someones chest and flailing for a foul. 22 seconds on the shot clock? At 21 seconds that ball is flying to the rim from the three point line. Sure he's got the tools, but it would take a MAJOR change to his mindset to play that role.

Exactly. Hopefully the new decision makers will see Knight the same way.

We will never win a thing with Knight running PG. There are certain scenarios where I could see him at starting SG working. Exum running PG is probably one of the few.

And even in that scenario we would almost definitely be better off starting Middleton at the 2. I don't want Knight starting on my team in any role.

But yeah I do agree that a great wing is pretty important. I think the level that wing needs to be to offset a great point guard is pretty high though.

Agreed. Even as a refined 3&D guy you'd need LeBron or Durant on the wing to offset Knight starting at point. Really any scenario where your starting point is strictly a 3&D guy would need a wing of that caliber.

Despite Knight's shortcomings in certain areas, he's been a pretty productive player for his age while seemingly having really solid intangibles. He's definitely a player I'd like to give another season and see if he takes another step forward. If you take a look around the NBA this year, you have quite a few point guards who looked like they'd be very average at age 22 throughout their careers but have developed into pretty nice players. Conley Jr., Lowry, Teague, and Dragic. You could make legitimate arguments that all four of those guys were the most important players on teams that won 48 games or more. Knight's goose isn't as cooked as some here seem to believe IMO.

I'd give Knight another season to see if he's my Lou Williams type scorer off the bench, I think that's where his potential is. If he's on, roll with him. If he's off, don't push him out for 30 minutes and sit his ass.

His goose is definitely cooked at PG. He doesn't just need refining there, he needs a complete makeover. I don't see him just developing court awareness, vision, and ability to control pace/tempo in year 4 when he's shown none of it up to this point. As a scorer that is not used to initiate offense, yeah I'd still like to see what he has to see if he can improve into a guy that can give you like 18 ppg on like .550 TS. But Wolters is who should be getting the PG minutes next year, assuming we do not land a starter in the draft.

Knight's basically a high character version of Jordan Crawford to me.

Thank god there are some sane minds with respect to Knight here.

Can't think of a bigger buzzkill than picturing something like Giannis + Exum, and then realizing Knight will probably be the point guard. Ugh. We need a real coach and GM so bad.

Yeah, he cannot be a point guard. He stops ball movement, doesn't make the best decisions, misses out on plays too often.

I can talk myself into and out of at least 5 guys if we had the top pick.

A good comparison for Wiggins I think is... a SF verison of Dwight Howard circa 2014. A guy that is going to be physically dominate, but doesn't put it all together in terms of play making ability and carrying a team. I think that would still be a very good player, not sure if that is worth the #1 pick though.

That is a very intriguing comparison. Not sure I agree, but it's something to think about.

Personally, I think his floor is a plus-defending Jeff Green.

A top 10-15 player who can play like the best player in the league on any given night isn't worth the #1 pick because he isn't essentially LeBron James or Kevin Durant? Considered me baffled what a few people think we're getting out of the first pick in this draft.

Maybe its just me but I think that something being overlooked when it comes to who we should select is who we're going to have the best chance to resign after their rookie deals if we hit the jackpot. Just for that reason alone can't get behind anyone in any way shape or form saying we should draft Exum before 4th at the earliest.

The kids already been on the record for trying to pine for the Lakers and imo if someone is going to come out right of the bat and say they want play in a big market like that I'd stay away from him. Even if he turns out to be great we still probably wont have him for the long haul. I'd go with Wiggins/Parker. Don't really think they could go wrong with either one and Embiid as my 3rd choice.

Unless a player risks a season playing at the QO after his fourth year, the team controls that player for nine seasons at least, essentially. So the above doesn't really factor in.

I guess I don't get why people are freaked out about him being a 35 mpg starting pg but essentially ok with him as a 6th man combo guard off the bench. Knight is a damn good player who can score and play d. We don't have to build around him but I definitely want him on this team going forward.

Anyone else think he could have a billups like career? He seems like a natural leader who will find a way to get it.

It's not that big of a risk for a player to take IMO (that someone would take the QO to get to go to, say, Los Angeles) and something feasible depending on the player. We aren't talking football here.

At the very least, it makes winning paramount for a team/city with such a poor reputation as the Bucks have.
