We had 5 back to backs in the first half.
We also have 5 back to backs in the stretch between April 24th and May 16th. Nine total b2bs in the 2nd half.
The Bucks abandoned the philosophy of having one of the deepest rosters in the league in the one year where it's more important than ever.
Incidentally, they also finally started switching only after overhauling most of the supporting cast from one of the otherwise most switchable rosters in the league (outside of Brook of course).
Timing not so great.
Important for what though? Cruising to another first seed? It's much easier to fill in a team when the top level talent is there and cohesive. While it might mean less regular season success this year and there's no guarantee of playoff success, it helps team-building for the next couple of years imo.
I agree with your point about switching - Hill was a big loss but nobody else moves the needle. Forbes has been more passable than I expected but DJA and Forbes supposedly solved one problem (shooting) but replaced it with another (perimeter defense)
Seeding does still matter for match-ups, and I think having a deeper team would help them stay fresh for the playoffs. Those are my main concerns. I'm not as concerned about HCA, but that does matter somewhat too. Look at how pumped up Giannis was with just a few fans in the arena on Sunday.
I'm not against a more top-heavy rotation for the playoffs at all; I just find it funny that they didn't do it the last two years and now that they finally did it, it's the one year where you can make a case that depth is more valuable than usual.
