Why is there a game being played on a Friday afternoon?

Because the Jazz play tomorrow afternoon in LA.

(Why are they playing an afternoon game on the ass end of a b2b? Because the schedule is very cramped, but ESPN pays the bills.)

I'm late but that Aldridge news is unfortunate, hate seeing guys go out like that.

2 year deal for Jabari
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Not a bad low-risk move to bring in Jabari by Boston. Perhaps Stevens can teach him some defense. I don't think he'll be a notable contributor, mainly because he's huge liability defensively. But he could hit some shots for them if he has to see the floor.

I know his tenure here left a bad taste in the mouth for many, but I don't have any ill will towards him. I hope he can make it stick.

May look like an idiot in a couple months but I’ll say it - I think if our squad is at full strength we’d kill Miami in a rematch

Some guy named Paul Watson scored 30 for Toronto.

I found a used copy online for six bucks and I have to say it’s really well written. It breaks the ABA down so well and conveys it all in a way that’s so easy to understand and engaging.

I’m about halfway through and I can’t recommend it enough.

Great book

The ABA is the last great mystery, for bball fans. On one hand, you had prime Dr J, young Moses Malone, David Thompson, etc doing things no one had seen on a basketball court. On the other hand, none of it was televised and attendance was modest. So it still wasn’t really seen. Its like outlaw basketball meets bigfoot. All with 70’s style and street aesthetics. There are photos of Larry Brown in fur coats, there were leisure suits, there were games played where visiting teams never had their uniforms arrive, there were nickel beer nights gone horribly wrong, once the all star mvp won a horse as a prize and it promptly died from neglect... The ABA was the last wonderfully weird and underexposed moment in pro basketball.
I will definitely have to pick up that book, sounds wonderful. I was a young man in the in the 70's, so when I was in high school in the early 70's the ABA was a very cool kind of underground for us basketball fanatics; like FM album rock, WZMF in my neck of the woods. It was kind of a combination of Rucker Park and the NBA. I called it Pirate Basketball. Btw, imho, we are rife for another attempt with the way things are heading in professional sports in general, the NBA in particular.

Weird how many no-calls the Clippers got down the stretch against Philly yet if someone even thought about touching Embiid, immediate foul.

The full Heat squad just lost to the Wolves. Their bubble performance was such a fluke, they're still mediocre as heck.

I’m pretty happy for Jabari. Hope he can turn into some type of workable sixth man in Boston. Maybe he can be their Portis for a bit.

i still think Bucks win in 7 last year with a healthy Giannis. The game he got injured was the momemtum swing until he went down.
