NOP may want to put trey Murphy in a more prominent role, and they already have BI and Zion as the other forwards. I don’t know if there’s a ton of room for herb.

I think if the bucks really want a wing defender for Tatum, Jimmy, KD, etc. herb would be better for those assignments than Jrue was.

Would be beautiful, but not sure how we pull it off. Would have to be like MarJon and the Portland pick, if they'd go for that, which I doubt.

MarJon's got the length and feet to take the task. He's got to bring consistency and discipline.

Herb just got signed to his new contract and he’s getting paid 12m this year, so my thought was Bobby, marjon, and the Portland second.

I could see both teams not wanting to do that, because it would severely limit our ability to make any follow up trades, and NOP may not value Bobby as their 5 moving forward, but I think I would do it.

Defense plays, and herb has a ton of positional versatility on that end.

You’re right about marjon, he showed a number of flashes last year of enveloping guards with his length while shadowing them nicely with his feet. I’m probably a little down on him from the summer, though. I think summer league gives you glimpses of a players mentality, and marjon, trying to take on more offensive load, really seemed to not give much effort on defense. That concerns me. I want a guy who wants to annihilate you on the defensive end, and I’m not sure marjon is wired that way. I think he wants to be a scorer. Very possibly an overreaction on my part. He has the tools, but he has to take pride on that end.

If Giannis can manifest Dame to Milwaukee, then I'm going to start manifesting that Marjon will be a playable wing for us this year with good defense and taking occasional open shots.

MarJon has a good base for becoming a nice defensive player. Good stance, can square up in an instant, decent instincts, moves his feet. I think he got a bad rookie whistle at the beginning of last season. I think he just has to get used to the speed of the NBA.

But if one of our young wings break out then they are under team control contract wise for the foreseeable future. If Stanley is measurably better than Jae then he is gone next year because we can’t afford him, and if not he’s gone. I get it championship but if Stanley was PJ Tucker level he would’ve been signed.

He would be the ultimate glue guy with that group and would bring some incredible athleticism to an already solid core. I just feel like Griff hand picked this guy to be his next developmental success story. I think MarJon would be a good 2nd unit scorer who might pair well with Cam. I think AJJ is going to turn out to be an incredible player & a core championship role player.

I share the same thoughts, but I think the scoring punch for the second unit comes from Payne, Beasley and Bobby. So he is more needed there. Starting unit should try MarJon first as the second year guy. And Pat for closing minutes.

Marjon certainly appears to be putting in the work, and on all the things that were noted as clear weaknesses in the draft process. Who knows what he will look like in actual play this year but the Bucks obviously believe in him.

It makes so much sense to give Marjon and AJJ shots at being rotation pieces first. They surely have more upside than any known commodity vet that's available and we can reasonably acquire. We could start that ladder in the 5th spot and win plenty of regular season games, the upside play is seeing if one of these guys can be dudes. Plenty of time to tweak and fill in a final piece.

When the Dame trade happened the Bucks became betting favorites to win the title. When Boston acquired Jrue I read that they were now the betting favorites. Not true at my book. Bucks are +350, Celtics +400. Nuggets (+450), Suns (+600), Warriors and Lakers (+1400) are next.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

It feels like we would be set with him starting the 2.
You are just now questioning that? It was a horrible decision from day one. What part of the Ibaka era had held you over this long that you are now coming to that realization lol?

Hahahahaha.
Yeah, it looked bad all the way back then, but the more time passes the worse it looks.
Fit wise, health wise, shooting wise, defense wise, age wise, no matter from what perspective we look at it, lol.

With that said, I can see us going as we are into the season and seeing how we look till the trade deadline in February.

My slightly unofficial book has

Bucks +375
Boston +400
Nuggets +550
Suns +550
Lakers +1200
Warriors +1300

I firmly believe most Vegas books will keep it at something like that. Until the money moves it one way or another.

The one I use has them both at +180 to win the East and +400 to win the title

I would bet he probably aspires to be more Paul George lite.

He’d just have to be good at defense, able to hit corner threes, and awful at everything else. Oh and his GM needs to think he’s worth like three firsts.
