Good thing there isn't a lux tax on coaching staffs.

If you're paying Doc Rivers $40 mil or whatever just let him pick his staff. I wouldn't want a stranger on my bench if I was head coach. It was obnoxious when they stuck AG with Stotts and Baker. It'll be obnoxious if they "force" Doc to keep a guy or two.

I'd rather have Doc pick his staff and fill with guys he trusts and wants to work with versus being stuck with guys who management thinks are good coaches. Seems logical that this would create a better / more productive work environment...really in any business.

There's no harm in keeping some people around that are established within the organization and well liked by the players. You can't turnover everyone mid-season.

Not only that but these coaches aren't getting paid millions like Adrian Griffin afaik so throwing them out of the job in the middle of the season would be kinda cold. I'm sure Doc will be able to hire his guys but they mostly have other jobs right now anyways.

Coaching should be miles better with Joerger in the mix.

Now please get a POA defender so I can fire off some irresponsible takes.

I'm less concerned on a trade at the moment. The coaching situation was the biggest problem. If we're dealing Bobby or Pat (or both), it needs to be a home run deal that doesn't upset the locker-room.

Aren't their contracts guaranteed too? So it doesn't matter if they are working or not, they are getting the same money. And I don't think the Bucks care about being cold.

Vin is a legacy coach, he's the Thanasis of assistants. He'll probably stick around.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I dig this. COO and CEO

Joerger inspires confidence in the on court gameplan and Doc inspires confidence in being a respected leader of men.

To me, this already shows a difference between Doc and Griffin. A lot of us here saw Stotts being the offensive guy being a huge boon for the Griffin staff and Griffin showed he was not secure enough to allocate duties to a peer, he felt threatened by it instead of embracing it for the greater good. To be fair to Griffin, he may have had Stotts forced on to him by the team. Either way, a good leader WANTS talented coaches around them and empowers them to their job. Doc is not without flaws but in this regard I already trust him more.

i dont know if this is what alpha males would call defeatist, but all this coaching turmoil does provide an easy narrative to fall back on in case Giannis and Dame just haven't gelled enough in time for the playoffs and it doesn't go as planned. either way.. and i dont mean to look past our current opportunity, but i'm extremely excited about next season when we will have had the time for everything to bake together AND we can package two 1sts and some salary for another legit player (hopefully a SG).

The owners have sent in the cleanup crew and we are getting experienced NBA professionals arriving this week. What a breath of fresh air.

Giannis, Dame and Khris deserve real professionals. We will finally see real basketball.

I *think* we lose the ability to trade our ‘31 1st, because we’re a second apron team, but maybe that rule won’t kick in yet. Either way, being able to trade the ‘24 1st at the draft could be nice. The 76ers acquired Melton that way, and he’d be great here.
