I strongly suggest everyone in this thread buy some almonds and count out 2 dozen, because you'll be shocked at how full you'll feel with only 170-180 calories worth of nuts. Sometimes, I can't even eat a full two dozen if I really chew the first dozen up really well and try to eat the next dozen about 5 minutes later. Almonds are absurd as a staple of a diet, IMO (beans are also way up there, but are more inconvenient to eat).
Almonds basically rule the world more than any human could hope to achieve (including LeBron, MJ, Obama, and GW). Even Osama has nothing on almonds, IMHO. In the old Celebrity Death Match on MTV, a single almond could take on all comers and destroy, IMO.
Almonds FTMFW.
I'm sold. I'll be picking up a bag today.
I get the almonds with sea salt rather than just normal salt on them and that is supposed to be a lot healthier for you as well. They are delicious.

I have a 30 OZ bag of Blue Diamond Sea Salt almonds in front of me right now. I'd guess that they take up roughly 30% of my daily caloric intake. I avoid heavy meals like the plague now and make up any caloric difference with a handful of almonds. If I'm out with friends, I may order something fairly heavy, but I'll limit the amount I eat and make up for any hunger pangs later on with a dozen almonds (which is really only about 80-90 calories).
It's kind of absurd, but they are so damn effective once you get used to them. Two dozen is only 170 calories, and in comparison I was eating 400-500 calories worth of **** before I made a conscious choice to make a change. Almonds are better than most humans, IMO. If I had to choose to keep eating almonds or trading in the lives of the top posters on here (twirlz, Luke, DB, PP, MD, Europa, Aussie, etc.) I'd go with the almonds. A snack or meal that is less than 200 calories but still makes you feel full for 4+ hours is kind of cheating, but that's how I lost 50 pounds and got back into the best shape I've been in since I was 17-18 (I'm now 32). I plan on running the Crazy Legs marathon with my older brother next year, and I'm also playing in some winter basketball leagues, which I haven't done since I was in college. My game is similar to Stephan Curry in terms of my ability to handle the rock and make passes while still nailing shots well past the three point line with ease. I'm really looking forward to the season starting because I think the opposing players will be ****, and it's fun to see that in their eyes.

I have a lightning quick release on my J, and I'm finally in good enough shape to play at a high level again.
When I was in college at the UW, I was in very good shape at about 170 and 6 feet tall. I guarded Devin Harris several times in pickup games, and was able to get my shot off against him surprisingly easily with my good ball handling and quick release. Still, he was a very tough guy to guard and keep out of the heart of the D. Roy Boone also played a lot and I had to guard him, and he was actually easier to guard despite the fact that I was only a very solid 170 compared to his 220-230. I could keep him in front of me and use the occasional bump to knock him off pace on a dribble drive. In all honesty, I shut that bitch down for the most part despite the huge size advantage mainly because I played PF in HS despite being 6"0', 170. I knew how to use my limited bulk, and Roy really didn't have much in the way of counter moves off the dribble from the perimeter.
Wilky also played in those games, but I never had to guard him. He was actually a pretty talented player beyond what he showed as a PF in games for the UW. I also played against Mike Kelley, who was a complete **** beast defensively. I had a really hard time dealing with him when we had the ball, because he didn't give me any space. I'm normally a scoring point that can also make plays, but he made my life hell compared to Harris. Despite that, he was pretty damn easy to guard. I played off the ball D while guarding him because he was so disinterested offensively.
This post brought back a ton of great memories from my college days. I'm even more motivated now to get into great shape for the upcoming city league games. The mother **** around here cannot deal with me if I'm in good shape, and it's fun as hell to basically dominate the court as the clear best player. There were many days when my shot was on and I outplayed Harris, Boone, and Kelly, so I should easily be able to outplay the fools around here.
Maybe I'll actually show up for a pickup game with you guys in Madison in the next year. I've heard Luke is a good player, but I honestly think he'd have no chance guarding an in shape Ayt.
