I'd be ok with it if we got another young asset or were able to dump Mayo's contract, as long as one of Wiggins, Exum or Embiid was available at 4.
I like the cut of your jib.

I would draft Embiid at one. I'm not trading down if I get the top pick unless the package is something really unreasonable.

Yup. NO to trading #1 for #4 + some other first. No chance.

Parker
Wiggins
Embid
Exum and Randle is close
On a less fun note, I played the ESPN draft machine a dozen times tonight. Bucks got the #1 pick only twice and got bumped to #4 almost half the time. Really brings it home how much risk we have in the draft lottery. Let's hope for the best.

Re: '14 Draft Thread - Parker Declares. List your top 4
It would appear I'm going to be defending Embiid's back for a while:
1) This issue is likely just stress-related. Up to 25 the bones will continue to remodel and get more used to taking the force (great data on this from other sports). I guess that means he has potential to miss games with back spasms up till then, but if there's any congentital issue like a pars defect etc it would already be on MRI films and they'll be tons of red flags.
2) New to the game. He'll get stronger. All this means is we will have to settle for his minutes going up and down. As long as he shows flashes of greatness, I wouldn't care as we'll likely be lotto-bound again. In reference to point 1) perhaps we could limit his minutes to ensure longevity
3) Bogut. The Bucks have been through this before with him, so should be able to get off on the right foot with Embiid ASAP. Bogut has shown durability in regards to his back, and his was far worse than what Embiid's was, if what I'm seeing is correct.
4) Howard. Dude had SPINAL SURGERY and has been durable. I doubt this will be long term, but it should assure some of you that there is potential to come back from horrible back injuries and still be a very productive NBA player.
In the hands of a competent medical staff, mild stress-related low back irritation should be no sweat. Honest to god, if the Bucks paid for my tickets and matched my wage I'm earning here I'd come over and manage the big bastard myself. In depth pre-season testing, institute wellness programs, scans, liasing with appropriate rehab practitioners, organising core strengthening programs - I'd have it covered

Re: '14 Draft Thread - Parker Declares. List your top 4
I'm still with Wiggins, but I'd be cool with Parker or Embiid if we did get number 1.
Exum is my 4th, a slight tier down from the top 3, but a tier up from the rest of the pack.
As far as 2nd round targets, I still love Payton. If Payne fell to the 2nd, I'd love to grab him as well. For our last pick, it would be pretty cool if we took Thanasis.
Not including FA's (Bledsoe is the only one realistically worth looking at imo), trades, or Mayo, it would leave us with something like:
With Wiggins:
Sanders/Zaza/Henson
Henson/Ersan/Payne
Giannis/Middleton/TA
Wiggins/Knight/Payton/TA
Wolters/Knight/Payton
With Parker:
Sanders/Henson/Zaza
Parker/Ersan/Payne
Giannis/Middleton/TA
Knight/TA/Payton
Wolter/Payton
It's a little more complicated with Embiid...

you don't start Larry and Henson with Wiggins/Giannis, you need Ilyasova to space the floor with those wings.

The people that have Embiid #1 and have "if his back is ok" are cowards! If he didn't have any back issues he would be the runaway favorite. Grow a pair! If you are that scared of his health issues put someone else #1.

Same as me (for today at least). As long as we draft any of those 4 I'll be happy though.
