Clearly a Hammond pick, not a Kidd pick, and that's good news.

It takes balls to make a selection with this much risk, I wouldn't have done it, but I wasn't at his workout either.

Maker is long, agile, and works. It will be fascinating to see if he turns out.

I'm shellshocked. I was at the Wolves draft party and when it became clear this was going to happen I had to come home just in case I started to cry. I can't believe this. I really can't.

The age rumors could have easily been put out by a team that wanted him to slip. I think it's increasingly harder to hide that stuff from draft scouts, especially if you're taking a guy with a top 10 pick. I imagine the Bucks would have investigated that thoroughly before making this move.

There are a lot of reasons to question this pick, but I'm not too worried about the age concerns at this point.

I have to admit, after listening to him talk.....he is winning me over a bit, especially with nobody else I liked.

I feel exactly the same way. How can you not be utterly and fascinatingly intrigued.

True Draft Night Story:

The moment I learned of Thon being our pick. The moment the crew at 'The Vertical' published the news and began the talks...my **** washer flipped my breaker switch. The fuse snapped. My internet gone. I didn't get it back up until the 12 pick! Was left fumbling around w/ my phone like a frantic stressed soccer mom. Hilarious.

His age has been questioned forever.

I like Maker as a defensive prospect but I think it's a huge reach at 10. If we drafted him at 25 I'd really love the pick. 10? Ehhhh.

We need to cut one of Thon's legs off to find out his real age. It's the only way of knowing.

WAAAH, somebody living in reality tried to shatter my fantasy. WAAAH

My track record/reactions on Bucks' picks at this point is beyond reproach. I also have acknowledged the strength of the Big 3, which has nothing to do with the current f.o.'s decision makers if you're informed or honest w/ yourself. You have nothing but faux appeals to toughness when you're the one being whiny unjustifiably in reality.
