Honestly, I’d just gone to bed and saw this news as I opened my phone to set my alarm. Now we’re talking giannis extensions, I’m thinking about still getting Bogdan. I won’t fall asleep for a while more but I know I’ll sleep happily :D

Keep in mind Robert Covington just went for two first.

This seems like a ton to give up, but Jrue should be a huge upgrade come playoff time.

Jk, here is confirmation that one of the picks is this year's.

I mentioned on the other thread, but the Woj Giannis puff piece special is something you do when your making your mark / branding / setting your identity/legacy. You would never do that a year before free agency.

All the pieces fit now, would be shocked if it doesn't happen.

Maybe Jrue was one of the guys Giannis said he wanted and would sign if they got him. If that is the case, they had to get him?

Agreed. Holiday is a playmaker on D for sure, but we need one on offense. Who the hell is going to be our starting PG? Holiday is a 2.

By tomorrow afternoon you'll have rationalized that Holiday is indeed that guy.

I don't know what capital we have now to get Bogdan at this point. We don't have picks. Is our cap situation such that we can just sign him outright?

If Giannis signs but Holiday doesn't stick around after this year how are we feeling then?

In the end he did have value...as the salary filler that facilitated every first round pick untill the planet turns to ash.

Appreciatetion to Bled though. He was a huge part of helping the team level up. Hill too, on and off the court.

I think we keep Jrue as our starting PG the next 5 years as Giannis' sidekick.

Also, to note... Jrue has had one playoff appearance in the past five seasons. He averaged 26.7 and 7.2 in 8 games. I think those are around Bledsoe's playoff numbers, hehe.

If Giannis leaves we are screwed anyway...At that point you trade Middleton for a top 10 pick in the stacked 2022 class and rebuild with two top tier prospects and tons of cap space. Championship or bust. I'm not crying over future 1st round picks in the 25-30 range.

Totally agree. Three future late 1sts for a bad MF**er and increasing our chances of locking in Giannis while not giving up any core players and getting off a terrible playoff performer seems like a great deal. The pick swaps being lottery protected (assuming something like this) gives us some insurance. If Giannis signs the supermax, this team will be a top 4 seed for as long as he's healthy. A few years ago, Jrue Holiday was the best player in a playoff series that included Anthony Davis and Damian Lillard - I think he's still that player.

Now we know why we didn’t close a deal on Paul or Schroder or Rubio.

Holiday was the target.
