I saw a comparison to Matisse Thybulle, I don’t hate that one.

He pass the ball, he defends, he facilitates. Nothing more i could ask from a young player.
There's a gigantic difference between their scoring games. Lonzo was two years younger and a 40% three point shooter on high volume in college. Lonzo was also at 16.6 points per 40 minutes compared to Jackson's 9.2. Lonzo was also simply a much better passer, and though I think his handle was weak enough to question if he could really be a point guard in the NBA, it was definitely better than Jackson's. Lonzo simply displayed far more touch than Jackson ever has, which is why LA/New Orleans ultimately only tweaked his shooting mechanics rather than a full rebuild. There is really nothing to build off with Jackson from that sense; he looks like a complete tear down is in order.
I'm sure most of this was pretty obvious considering one was the #2 pick in his draft and the other was a 2nd rounder but yeah...he simply is not Lonzo at all.

Man, i don't really care if he is Lonzo or not, i just watched 5 minutes of him playing basketball and post a hot take, like the other 90% of the board. Nothing wrong to be a little bit overexcited, even naive, for a young player.

Shooting mechanics are VERY weird. He's a very fast twitch player but he shoots like he was a slow chubby middle schooler or something. All his athleticism disappears.

Commanding no defender and allowing his defender to be a free rover isn't good. Especially on court with Giannis.
Jackson does look to be a gifted lob and alley-oop passer. Might work great with Giannis.

I would. Thybulle is a massive playoff liability. Good thing for Jackson is that his offensive upside is decently higher given his handle and ability to operate as a passer/lead-guard.

Didnt really dive into any videos of him until today. Yeah that shooting motion looks jacked up. I was hoping for the Marjon "numbers aren't great but the motion looks fine" it's.....not that. Hopefully at a minimum he can clean up the release, even if it's never going to be a pure looking shot.

We are eagerly waiting.
I do agree with one name on this list if you are going to gamble with a 2nd rd. pick. Why not go with Keyontae Johnson? Would seems like the perfect type to gamble on.

So you've come to this conclusion after, what, 2-3 hours of "scouting"?

Re: #36 - Andre Jackson Jr
Lonzo was an absolutely elite level playmaker/passer coming out of college. Lonzo was up there with Rubio in terms of how well he could dictate the offense. Jackson isn’t in the same realm.

Lonzo shot 40% from 3 in college and 72% from 2.

If TJ McConnell had prime Kobe's vertical athleticism, sure.
I'm not saying their games are similar aesthetically because AJJ is obviously a lot bigger and more athletic and McConnell has a way better floor ga.e, I'm thinking more about what AJJ's production will actually be like if he pans out. There isn't much precedent these days for perimeter players that barely shoot or score yet can stay on the floor and not torpedo their team's offense and McConnell is one of the few exceptions I could think of. If AJJ tops out as an efficient 12/6/6 per 36 guy who plays great defense and does a ton of little things (like McConnell more or less) this is a really nice pick.

Horst was asked and I think he said something like 'we had him checked out and we are comfortable, or we wouldn't have drafted him'

Re: #36 - Andre Jackson Jr
Lonzo Ball, first year in LA: 30,5% 3pt, 36% fg% (both 2pt and 3pt)
Lonzo Ball, second year in LA: 32,9% 3pt, 40,6% fg.
When he came in NBA, Lonzo's shooting was laughable, everyone who watched him, remembers it.

Maybe Horst & Co. felt like AJJr. was the perfect type to take a gamble on.
