That 2nd quarter was fun. Chicago played all their key guys against mostly backups and 2-ways minus Brook and they're only up by 1 :D

Beasley won't be the starter, clear role for him off the bench as a guy who throws up 3's with the bench unit and takes pressure off our halfcourt offense. Doesn't make sense at all next to Dame

If I had to base it completely off of what I have seen so far it will probably be Beasley based on his ability to defend the 2. If you are comfortable with Crowder defending the 2, it is also possible you see him.

The argument is for either Marjon or Pat as starter.

You go Pat or Marjon because they compliment the starting lineup better imo

Dre could give us some really fun minutes next to Lillard/Middleton. Put enough shooting around him and I think he’ll work offensively. His defensive upside is kinda nutty.

And MarJon should start. Even if he’s not totally ready (although he might be) I think you throw him into the fire and let him figure it out.

Marjon would be awesome, but it would make me sad for him to be reduced to a corner 3 point shooter being on the court with Dame/Giannis/Khris/Brook. I think he is totally wasted starting, and starting him probably stifles his ability to evolve as an offensive playmaker. I think the starting lineup just wants a guy who is 100% always willing to shoot an open corner 3 without hesitation. Pat could also be that guy. I just worry about the ability to guard guys like Desmond Bane. The Grizzlies game from last year where Khris literally had to tackle him comes to mind.

Marjon looks quicker to me than last season. Blows by guys like its nothing.
AJJ defense looks nice and took Demar by surprice of how tough it was a few times so far.
Bobby and Brook look great.
I'm impressed by the Bulls defense. They completely locked up our big 3 so far.

Idk, I think it’s important to build the right habits with MarJon, including defensive intensity/quick decision making/unselfishness. Dudes like Kawhi, Jimmy, Tatum were all high end role players before they broke out as stars and it served them beautifully because underneath all the scoring talent were winning habits.

Obviously not saying MarJon’s gonna be even close to those guys (he will not), but point is I’d rather he learned to play smart next to more talented guys, than just try to chuck in 2nd units.

I can get behind this reasoning. He is definitely the best fit for guarding the 2 of the options presented, in my opinion.

Also Robin Lopez is absolutely incredible at working the refs.

If you went by stats, Beasley would be the starting SG. If you look at defensive commitment he would not.

Defensive effort is definitely there. People sprinting out there.

I think he needs to start. He keeps playing with half assed lineups. Let's see what happens when he's the 5th best player in the lineup.

Not just effort. Perimeter pressure too.
