I think I've signed my last rental agreement. Finally gonna buy. Have done some preliminary looking and gotta say, pretty shameful how few places are built with a 70-inch TV in the living room in mind. :nonono:

Had been a renter for decades before buying our first place, it's such a huge strange sense of anxiety release to not have to worry about whether you're going to have to do something major like move based on someone else's whims.

I've had to travel for work for a couple of days to attend a workshop which starts today, a bunch of folks from my company have and we're all put up at the same hotel. We were all scattered around the hotel's breakfast area this morning. They actually mentioned a dress code for the workshop as "business casual", which I determined to mean that fronting up wearing a long sleeve henley shirt, trousers and a pair of Doc Martens would cover- I thought I looked good. Everyone of those **** that waved/said hi at breakfast was wearing a collared shirt or a suit- they'd all just skipped the tie.

Sometimes it takes imagination. We were lucky to get a 50" in our living room when we bought our house.

Now I have a glorious 85" over our Napoleon fire place.

It cost some money but it was worth it.

So am I the only one that’s considering turning into a doomsday prepper after seeing this Veo 3 thing?

I'm fortunate to not have worked in a business casual work environment for basically a decade. At the bank and national accounting firm it was suit and tie, but that was ass. CPG companies it's a different story. Jeans, t-shirt, hell, even a few times I've worn nice joggers. I refuse to go back to "professional" dress when I sit in an office or a conference room with the same 10 people.

What are you guys doing over the long weekend? It's pretty nice in SE Wisconsin. I'm going to a beer garden later this afternoon. Then my son is coming over for some grilling (just burgers) and then watch the game tonight. Tomorrow is open.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I don't follow racing but I was surprised to hear this is the first Indy 500 sellout in 9 years. I just assumed it was full every year.

In the meantime one car crashed into a wall before the race started, during the pace laps. Oops

My wife has some friends in from out of town for a wedding, so our schedule has revolved around them to this point. We hosted them and some other friends Friday night. Yesterday we went to their hotel so the kids could swim, and then my wife joined them at the wedding reception.
Meeting them shortly here for lunch and then they are headed home.

Tonight my wife and I are seeing the new Mission Impossible, and tomorrow is wide open.

Sausages at a friend's this afternoon.

Tomorrow, smash burgers in the Molitor lot before seeing the home town Brewers.

Hopefully I'll finally see a win. 0-4 so far I'm games I've been to

For anyone dipping their toes into the racing spectacle, I’d highly recommend going up to Road America in Elkhart Lake. Just a special place.

One of my daughter’s daycare classmates parents throw massive parties on Lake Oconomowoc for whatever reason and invite everyone. It’s some $5m house and the party is massive. I’ll take free food and beer!
