I only really know Third Eye Blind's first album, but I liked it a lot, and The Background really stuck with me through high school. All this to say I can't vouch for the rest of their discography :D

The 1st Third Eye Blind album is honestly a straight up masterpiece and EASILY the most underrated album of the 1990s. It barely gets talked about and IMO it's a top 10 overall album of that decade. Go song by song, it's straight bangers. 2 absolute mega hits that still see mainstream radio play daily 25 years later, a bunch of super strong other songs, AND the album has an overall sound and flow beginning to end, with the 2nd half of the album becoming super melancholy, like an ending relationship.

Losing a Whole Year, Narcolepsy, Graduate, Burning Man, Thanks a Lot, and Motorcycle Drive By are all definitely stronger songs aside from the aforementioned The Background and obvious 3 huge singles.

I've liked every Third Eye Blind song I've heard, but I can't listen to them without recalling all the amazing ridiculous Stephan Jenkins stories I've heard in the last 15 years.

Slow Burn is a great listen regardless of the season's focus.

I am a little too young to remember the actual event that well and have not followed a ton over the years...but seems like one of three things:

1. They finally have some evidence to try to win a trial.
2. They think he did it, still don't have enough evidence, but are saying, "**** it, it's not going to get any better than this."
3. He is just an idiot looking for attention and I guess since they're running out of options they'll give it a shot.

Watching Judgement Night tonight and it sent me down a soundtrack rabbit hole. I had no idea Ice-T had a punk band.

What a ridiculously great performance.

I've thought for about two decades now that Smashing Pumpkins - in whatever iteration they're going through - have sounded like utter trash. Billy jumped the shark and sounded even worse than he already did, which was initially endearing and turned into just a terrible voice.

It was the 30th anniversary of Siamese Dream recently, and this just randomly popped up on my YT feed. I actually found it quite good. Disarm and Mayonnaise are especially good.

I know he does solo work but it's kind of funny seeing Danny Elfman listed with those bands. Also kind of surprised how far down Baby Metal is listed. I thought they were quite popular.

Honestly my first thought was what the hell is Danny Elfman doing up there.

First real non country fair type concert I ever saw was smashing pumpkins in Minneapolis circa 96. I was more a classic rock/jam band guy but I thought it was a good show. My high school girlfriend was a huge fan. Ironically my current wife has an irrational hatred of Billy Corgans voice.

Love this song. It sounds to me like a song from a much earlier album of theirs. Haven't heard the rest of the new album yet - aside from Weird Goodbyes, since it (weirdly) preceded Frankenstein - but it's on my list.

I remember an icebreaker in a college class (I probably had the same reaction you're having) and one of the kids said their favorite band was LIT.

Me: The My Own Worst Enemy guys?
Him: Yeah.
Me: Are you your own worst enemy?
Him: Yep.
Me: Checks out.

Obviously I still think about this whenever I see any reference to the band Lit, which is not often, because I met their only huge fan.

I saw them live a few months back headlining for The Beths in Denver. really quality show. I dont know alot of their stuff, but they have a couple banger albums.

Bumped this thread to ask the question is Taylor Swift the biggest music star since MJ? The most famous American celeb since who?

I love 1989. But I don't get why I should care about Taylor's Version. It sounds the same.
