I'm still a little iffy about the Heat having enough points in them for the games that matter. They could not score against us last year. Is Lowry and a resurgent Herro enough to right all the wrongs from last year? I don't know but they certainly are/will be a lot better.

In addition to Lowry and Herro, it would be nearly impossible for Bam and Butler to play as poorly as they did against us again.

I’d like to think we’d be fine if fully healthy, but I’m not going to take them for granted either.

I love that Morey is fining Simmons again from the broader NBA and Bucks’ perspective.

But I don’t really see how it’s going to improve his trade value.

Would having Ben on the court dogging it really make any team reconsider their offer?

I get that there is a time component if new trades become possible after Dec. 15 and before the deadline. And the Sixers save a ton of money if he keeps holding out and taking the fines.

However Philly could just let him sit without so much drama and lockerroom strife. Unless Simmons does an about face and fires Klutch he’s not going to be there for years to come no matter what his contract says, and he’s already shown he’s willing to go scorched earth on the team.

Basically I think Morey might just be out for vengeance at this point, which is great entertainment value for non-Philly fans at least!

Morey clearly misunderstood Simmons’ trade value.

Maybe Simmons sort of misunderstood his trade value (in that he just doesn’t fit on a lot of teams).

Philly seems like the least fun city to live in, so much hostility and negativity.

I appreciate why it's bad optics, and there'd probably be a **** if it happened to the Bucks, but that ref hitting Atlanta's bench with the crybaby gesture was great.

Edit: 29 seconds in

Morey missed his chance to trade Simmons for recent #1 pick locked in on a long term contract kind of value.

It’s possible the Rockets were just f*cking with him too for personal reasons pretending like a Harden swap was ever a possibility.

If Embiid gets sick of the circus Morey could end up finding his job at risk while he desperately tries to save face. He’s got a bit more time but idk if the situation can hold past the trade deadline like Morey’s claiming it could.

Philly is pretty awesome honestly. But their fans are extremely passionate and sometimes that’s to a fault.

The Heat are a much improved team and are easily a better team than the Bubble team which are overrated.

They are more or less improved because they acquired Lowry. Expect Herro's scoring and efficiency to fall back to earth to his norm, he's a good player, just not this good.

The Heat are probably going to be the most annoying out in the playoffs in the East and have the advantage in every position except power forward.

The thing is there's no player on the Heat than can close the gap to Giannis. Superstars win championships unless you are the 2004 Pistons and I don't think the Heat are in the Pistons Echelon. The Heat have no superstars as well rounded as they are.

I'd pick the Bucks over the Heat in 5-6 games unless the Giannis supporting cast underperforms.

Embiid is half the circus. Would he pass the rod to Tobias Harris like he's Zac Efron at the end of the greatest showman?

Yep. There is a reason Herro was untradeable a year ago. I'd have to figure the Heat title odds in Vegas have gone up considerably the past week.

It's also a different game this year from last. You can't reach but you can use your chest as a defender and play physical defense.

That directly puts a team with Jimmy, Bam, Lowry et al several notches higher.

Man Rubio was such a good pickup for Cleveland.

Maybe the Trailblazers will just give Neil Olshey a slap on the wrist.

But the investigation extending and expanding "before a ruling on Olshey’s future is determined" could be setting up to can him.

It's not like his performance as POBO for the last 10 years has been so stellar that his position should be considered secure on the merits alone either.

Wonder how it might change the calculus with Dame. Adjusting if not dismantling the front office power structure from the top down could buy the Blazers some more time, or it could be a prelude to blowing it up.

Eh, the reason was that he plays for Miami and the casual media hype machine was anointing him the next Ray Allen, when in reality he's more of a Lou-Will/Jamal Crawford. Credit to Spo for putting him in the perfect position. He'll be one of the league's best 6th men for years, but that's not someone who's untradeable in the slightest.

Before Giannis became a superstar, we would have killed for Olshey's results here. He drafted Lillard out of the gate, and they've sort of treaded between 42-54 wins in that period. But I wouldn't fault Portland for now wanting to try something different.

Might be wiretap hype from Shams, but if the Sixers tossed in more assets, a Simmons for Jaylen Brown trade would be pretty ugly for us.

The problem is what would be that 2nd asset Philly could send. Maxey is the logical choice, but given how he's started the year, would not think Morey would part with him.

Olshey had a stacked deck of draft picks, young talent, and cap space and has pretty much nothing to show for it at this point. All the young talent have seen their value decline, they spent their cap space on crap players, and traded their picks for guys that haven't elevated the team. He should have been fired years ago.

I do not like Jaylen Brown on the 76ers...they'd be pretty scary. Not sure who is playing PG on that team, though, which is the only pause. Can they manage to keep Maxey in such a deal and let him do it by de facto/shared committee?
