I think that was always the point. I can't believe these re-releases have been so huge when they were, understandably, money grabs.
F*** Marc Davis, f*** Tim Donaghy and f*** David Stern as a staff, record label and as a mothaf**kin crew......and if you wanna be down with Stern then F*** YOU TOO!!! Stu Jackson f*** you too.....all you mothaf**kas F*** YOU TOO!!!!

Never heard of this band but this is a pretty great cover of a classic.

This is a fun event if you're going to be in AZ for spring training. Cool venue on the lake just south of ASU in Tempe. They've expanded to two weekends this year.

Chilli Peppers always put on a good show.

I didn't know that was a George Floyd song until I looked into it. Always glad to find out the folks you really like are on the right side.

Brent's got a terrific voice. The Shinedown Simple Man acoustic cover is extraordinary.

New Andre 3000 album dropping on Friday. Mans traded the mic for the flute. No beats, no rhymes, no vox.

The man can do what he wants. His legacy is secure. Aquemini is a top 5 album for me. Depending on the day of the week, Kast could be my favorite rap group of all time.

HOWEVAH

I'm curious, but expectations are low. The rapper turnt instrumentalist history is not a decorated one.

Discuss.

Andre 3000 can do no wrong in my book. ATLiens blew my mind as a 14 year old. Aquemini is also a top 5 album for me. I'm not expecting to love this new album but who knows. Just read this morning:

Same. If anybody's going to pull it off, it's him.

Who knows? I wasn't expecting the Lil Yachty x Tame Impala to bang.

OutKast got me into music, seeing them live in Milwaukee was one of the greatest nights of my life. I've listened to their albums to the point where I only do it as a treat these days but they will always be the goat.

On that note, I don't have high expectations. I'd rather see Dre randomly hop on songs and slaughter his verse per usual.

Also, ATLiens>Aquemini. I seem to be in the minority there but ATLiens is probably my favorite album of all time. The intro sets the tone and I can't help but sit back and enjoy.
Inadequate perception I reckon it's from the Valium

So Andre's record is fine. I'm a fan of Carlos Nino and it sounds a lot like the recent stuff Carlos has done for International Anthem. This is a full-on ambient record. I guess I can't suss out what Andre's contributions are here. I'm looking at this more as a sidestep or perhaps a signpost for something more significant. The record is more interesting for the discussion it generates.

Pitchfork has a review up this morning and is ready to anoint it as something more significant than it is. I dunno, man. Juuuuust a tad premature to slot him alongside Arthur Russell, Eno and Jon Hassell.

What you should do is check K. Leimer's soundtrack to "Land of Look Behind." How does an ambient-reggae hybrid fortifying a film ostensibly centered around Bob Marley's Jamaican funeral you? I'll tell you what amigos, this is extremely my sht.

Spotify wrapped dropped. I had 30k hours on Spotify which feels like a lot.

My top 5 is pretty boring with one that seems a out of place

1. Widespread Panic
2. Phish
3. Pearl Jam
4. Grateful Dead
5. Mozart
